Hi guys, I recently got a s14 t28 for my KA-T setup and I was wondering what psi the stock wastegate is set on those turbo's. I don't want to run too much psi and blow my motor. I was hoping for around 250hp. Is that achievable with a t28 at stock boost? My setup includes SAFC II, 370cc's, FMIC, etc. Also, is it a good idea to get a manual boost controller? Someone told me that having a boost controller can increase throttle response and reduce turbo lag a little. Not sure if that is true or not. And if so, are the cheap ebay MBC's okay?

Thanks, Alex.

at stock its at 7 psi you will need larger injectors for the t28 because if you boost it your 370cc injectors will max out.

So I need bigger than 370cc's just to run stock boost on the t28?

370 cc is only if you run at 7 psi. but you'll do need 480cc to 550cc if u gonna plan to boost it up.

Wrong. It really all depends on your setup but plenty of people run 10+ psi with their 370cc injectors. Buy my 270cc's and send them to Deauchwerkz to mod them to 480cc. DOOO ITTTTTTT

A boost controller cannot increase throttle response.

A boost controller only tricks the waste gate into opening (releasing exhaust pressure) at a higher psi, than the waste gate is specified to.

The only problem I see with your setup is the SAFC II. You should really look into the way the safc works. You could have a good reliable setup with some other type of fuel control, such as a tuned E-Prom or Greddy Emanage (to name the low cost options), or a blown setup with the safc.
