it could be a number of things....the cheapest and simplest item you can eliminate could be to replace your o2 sensor....it could be bad and misreading the air coming out your exhaust thus causing it to run rich

If you're losing power when you push the throttle you might have other problems. You might want to get a compression test. You're piston rings might be going out, oil is leaking through. How many miles you got?

It's very possible you just need to replace your plugs... Our cars have a built in Tip-in retard that is activated upon depressing the Throttle kinda hard.. This can sometimes cause a little smoke to puff out if your plugs aren't burning off the excess fuel properly. I would check my plugs, and wires, and distributor, before anything else.
Also I don't think your rings are wearing out, as that would be blue smoke. not black

ive replaced the plugs already, and ive ordered the wires, but im having a bit of difficulty with the disty/rotor, may have to order them to, or go to the devil, i mean dealor.
And yea its black smokes, not blue, and how much is an o2 sensor and how hard is it to replace?
**EDIT** also i see people talking about checking there codes and it comes up o2, how do you check your codes?
nm i found it out on the 240sx.org faq, sounds kinda complicated though

your o2 sensor should be about 3-4 inches long and sticking into your stock exhaust manifold (headers if you wanna call them that)....they shouldnt cost you too much money i'm thinking no more than $20....if not then around $25....the parts and labor (which is free if you do it) are relativly cheap (compaired to say a head gasket )....to help you in what they look like go to autozone, orielys, or some auto parts store and you can get it there, just ask the guy at the desk.....well i hope this helps you good luck on your problem....i kinda have the same right now but i'm convinced its some crap i still have stuck in the catalytic converter i had leaking through a warped head gasket that i had to have replaced (mucho $$$$$ )
