How exactly do i install new bulbs in my lowbeam (h4) spot. I was looking at it today, but coulnd't figure out if i needed to twist the plastic or what. I really dont' want to mess this up, so if any of you could tell me exactly how not to screw this up, let me know ;0 thanks.

for my 98 it's H1 for low beam and 9005 for high beam, it says so at the plastic covering.

I have a 1995 and the bulb numbers are 9003 for low beam (also known as H4) and 9005 for high beams. To swap your bulbs, the outer bulbs( are low beam) unscrew (if you have a 95 this is how you do it) the black thing. then remove the rubber housing (the piece of rubber that goes around the light) peal that off, then un plug the light bulb. Now to get the bulb out you have to remove the U-spring (so i call it, you can call it what ever you want) becareful not to bend the spring thing. The spring is basically held in 3 places and on the top of the spring, where you cant see it, is where you would pinch it together and i comes right out. Replace the bulb in the spot, put the spring thing back in (make sure it is held in 3 places again) and do the setps backwards. Now you are done. It shouldn't take you more that 10 to 15 minutes to do it if you have fat fingers like me.

okay i had the same problem but i figured it out....u have to unscrew that cover...and once u see that..u see a rubber thing covering the plug for the blub....stick ur fingers deep inside it...and push the rubber together...its like a snap on crap...once u push it on both sides....it will release it and youll be able to pull out the plug......then the rest of it is easy....ull be able to figure it out for urself without n e trouble...

waiiit.. so what do you have to unscrew!... eh? i have it to the point where i took the rubber thing off, so i see sires leading to a black plastic boxy thing that probaby holds the bulb.. but i can't get it out!,,.. explain exactly what you do with the rubber again?!.. i'm confused..

man. i'm weak as all #### then.. i pulled on them awefully hard... i'm goign to try again here in a minute.. this is startin to drive me nuts.. i think the real hard lights to change r going to be the corners tho... (like the ones right next to the lowbeams)... i think i have to take the whole assembly out to get to those... anyone done this?

the corners are 1 bolt, and then pull the lens assembly out (straight forward). careful though. i broke mine.

okay.. i'm about to break my headlights.. the f_ckers just won't come out... there is a platic back on the thing that the wires run into.. .do i need to get rid of this?!.. my god,,, this is a nightmare.. (talking about the lowbeams still,, highbeams are cake)

you have a s14 right? if so do what i said before... i just did mine 3 days ago.... unscrew the black thing, then take off the rubber housing, unplug the bulb, take out the wire holding it in, on the very top where the bulb goes in there is a clip thing, squeeze it together and take out the clip and the bulb comes out. easy

i took the rubber thing and the black screw thing out.. but for the life of me, i can't get the plug to come out with the bulb.... it's just like.. stuck in there... r u sure u did nothing special?.. does the whole thing come out? or just a lil plug... hmm.. i'm off to try it again..

Dude, its sooooooo simple. Put down the pipe and try your hardest. Or find someone with smaller hands.

If the wire is connected then you will have to disconnect that. I dont remember exactly but most plugs like that should have a snap you have to push in for it to come out.

Its really a 10 min job.... if that.

so wires come out before the rest of the assembly?

You have to pinch the sides of the rubber(the clipson the bulb harness) it won't feel like much but you will actually disengage the clips and then just pull out. Now the wire harness has been removed and the bulb is held in by the U clip. unscrew the single tiny screw at the bottom of the u clip and then pinch the tabs on the uclip to remove it. now just pull out the bulbs. Don't touch the glass on the bulbd handle the lights by the metal ring around it only!! Good luck.

i can't find the things i need to pinch... are they on the sides? way inside? top and bottom?... i feel something WAy inside.. but it is metal and near impossible to depress both while pulling at the same time... i'm so ready to take the front of my car apart.. this is driving me insane...
