Well I am headed to the hobby shop in about an hour to install my "new" Turbo.
Well not brand new, it's a year old and has about 5,000 klms on it.

"...Garrett ball bearing turbocharger. It's a bolt on turbo for the S14 and S15. It's basically the same thing as the Tomei 8446. It has a 46 trim TO4E compressor wheel and the same exhaust wheel as the HKS 2835 (the compressor wheel is a little larger than the 2835). The exhaust housing is an a/r .86. Power is good for 400 and change. It comes with a Garrett 6.1kg adjustable actuator. Because of the size, this turbo should be used on an engine with cams.

It's a custom GT28 series turbo. It is a copy of the Tomei (Nismo) 8446 (also built by Garrett); same actuator and everything. It was ordered from and built by Garrett. It's the exact same thing as the GT2835 with the exception of the compressor wheel major diameter being larger. The housings are direct bolt on for S14/S15. In addition to the exhaust wheel being bigger than even the GTI-R, the exhaust housing is also an a/r 0.86 (same as the GTI-R but with six bolts for the bb cartridge) vs. the stock 0.64, but has the same flanges. It's the same turbo run on the Nismo GT300 engines for circuit racing. You can not buy this turbo from Nismo, Nissan, etc. It's considered "racing parts" and not available to the public.

Hopefully I don't run into any snags. I already have it mounted a brand new manifold. Here are some pics as it sits in my house:

what about some ceramic coating to help with spool-up? A few hundred rpm is still a few hundred rpm.

if I was in the states I would, everyone that does it here has to send them to the states. Maybe if I had a spare mani that would be an idea, but I need to throw this on now since the current mani is cracked. Plus I really do not have much time on my hands:-/

Will be putting down 350 strong, maybe some change on that. Gonna keep the boost down a bit.

I have stainless for the oil, not the water bro:hs:

Holy long fuckin day, ran into plenty of issues, like cracked extensions and shit. Cliffs Notes only - Get stainless lines, have all your gaskets, remember that you will lose all your coolant, Get stainless lines, invite friends for moral support, have bandaids and alcohol. Take your time.

Wow that looks great man. I have always wanted the hks gt2835 for my s14. Definately post up some dyno pics and numbers when you get a chance. That thing should rock.

hahahaha yea man those lines are a beeyatch... main reason i say get rid of them (other than cuz they are a pain in the ass when taking off/puttin on the turbo) is because they've cracked on quite a few of my friends sr's up here...how she feel?? when you gettin it retuned?.... hope you didn't get too bloody hahaha you have to sacrifice some blood man... thats how you know you're doing it right lol

good stuff cant wait to see how it does numbers wise... im sure you'll get use to the lag... how much more laggy is it?? my buddy that has the 2835 on his car had beautiful top end power (i only really rode w/ him on the highway) dont know how it reacted drifting though as i never rode w/ him sideways

any internal mods?
do you recommend this for a stock sr?
obviously injectors are in order for a stock motor but what else for good power?

Car is tuned now. Shit is amazing at full boost, even suprises me how faster it is. Nice mean tone at cruising speed as well. I am happy. Boosting 1.1 with 85.6% Injector Duty on 550's at full boost. No dyno till I get back from a trip.
