okay, the unstable hybrid site refered me to SRSWAP.com, have any of you used this site and have any of you ordered from this site.
they state that the SR20DET engine will "bolt right in"
but dont you need a special mounts for it?
i dunno, im just getting ready to purchase a new motor for the 90 240 SX, and i want to do the work on it myself. SRSWAP makes it sound Fairly easy, whilst UNstable hybrids make it sound near Impossible to do it your self, is that just Hybrid wanting your money, or is it actually true?
they only have the SR series of motors avail that i can tell..

I don't believe the SR20 needs new mounts.. I think the RB20 does though. The SR should just drop right in.

don't quote me but from the little research that I've done it seems that the install difficulty lies with the wiring harness and all related elctronics. I've heard stories that people have put the engine in during a morning but took two weeks to figure out the wiring?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> the engine itself shouldn't be too difficult though if you've had experience with motor swaps. Good luck.

Yes the SR will drop right in. The only hard part is the wiring.
SRSWAP.com is one of my friends shop. Yury Great guy to work with. Very honest and upfront with everything.
The RB20 and 25 do need new motor mounts. The mounts need to move about 100mm forward.

Trust me, if you don't know which mounts it will take it is not a project you should likely undertake. Wiring is a biatch, installing isn't easy, and getting it to actually RUN? Be prepared to have the car down for a while if you don't know exactly what you are doing.
Let's just say that I'm not a stupid person and I've done a fair amount of wrenching, but when the time comes, I'm taking it to a shop.

Unstable-Hybrids has made it clear many times that they don't like to give out advice, or hints as to installs, to the do-it-yourself-er. They also made it clear that a large part of their business comes from their installs. They're very good businessmen. They also know what they're doing. When they imply that the wiring is diffucult, that's just "their point of view". If you read into the SRSWAP site, you'll notice there's a large section dedicated to SR20 swap instruction, with advice from people who've done the swap. Read that over, it's very helpful. Most people I've talked to who have done the swap will all agree that the wiring isn't that bad. And the motor mounts bolt right up.

alright, that helps. i read and re read the wiring section of the SR swap, dont seem to hard. and the reason im so concerned about the mounts is because my dad is a Domestic car builder, and he told me that building up a import is not worth it, expecially if it involves a Swap,
but now that ive done some research, i now realize he just wants me to have another camaro...
Yeah, RIGHT, wont go there again...
one more quick question, about how high would you RECOMMEND Building a SR20DET up. and how high can they go WITHOUT Nitrous.
and also, Where can i get a RB20DET and Mounts, and everything else. cant seem to find one... anywhere?
