I have noticed that my 1 year old gt2871r is rattling at about 3K rpms. I have checked for clearance and it is not hitting anyting. I picked up the HKS filter and the piping to make sure it does to tuch anyting but still only at 3K for about 500 rpm it rattles. Could i have already blown the turbo. I did this since the day that i put it in. It is spitting a little oil since i had to tap my greddy manifold for intake air temp sensor for my PFC and there is oil inside the manifold. Could i have already blown out my turbo seals???

oil in your intake manifold is just blowby's will it depends if its really bad. if its bad yeah its your turbo. the rattling depends man i had this problem a few times. check your enitre exhaust system cause it can range from the turbo outlet to the cat to your exhaust. loose bolts on the exhaust system can be a cause. exhaust gaskets could be bad. bad cat can be a cause if theres a hole in it. these are just the few of the cause.

I think I've experienced every rattle imaginable, and then some.
I'd put money on it NOT being the turbo. A turbo rattle isn't a "rattle", it's a "buzzsaw" or "kazoo" sound. A rattle will be either intake piping, intercooler piping, or (most likely) your exhaust and any of its mounts hitting something.
If you feel it in your ass, it's your muffler.
If you feel it in the steering wheel, it's your elbow or downpipe.
If you feel it in the pedals, it's your downpipe.
If you can't feel it at all, and just hear it, then it's probably intake/intercooler piping.

have you checked if it's timing chain rattling because of a weak chain tensioner? phase2 sells the tensioners if it is. look into that.

What size restrictor are you using in your oil feed line? I'm assuming you're describing this "rattle" just revving the car, not under load. I'm tending to agree with GSXRJJordon, if the turbo is bad it'll be more than just a rattle.

oil in the intake manifold could be from the turbo, but it can also be from the PCV, so no that doesnt mean you have blown your turbo

i have checked the exhaust numerous times. There is no cats and loose bolts. I am using the atp oil restrictor. it is like a buzz. only at 3K rpm. and it happens under load too and its only at 3000-3500. It wierd. I checked all the clearances and everything looks ok. I donno anymore.
