Just what exactly are you doing to your tail lights? BTW you have a nice looking car, nice background too

dude, your wheels are SEXY. the more i see ol' skool wheels on s13s the more i want a set. not that a nice set of 17" Volk CE28Ns wouldn't kick ass...but.....:look:

HEHhee... well thats not my car.. its just a picture to show you what i want to do. i want to wire my taillights so when i turn on my lights the signal light will light up. i have that part down but the only problem is when my lights are turned on, when i turn the signal, the back signal light will not blink. my friend told me it might have something to do with the ground wire?? anyhelp?? thanks

Wouldn't that require a dual filament? I know the rear turn signals are on or off, wheras the front amber lights can be dim and bright and the bulb is physically different.

Pardon me for asking, but, why do you want to change the way your taillights light up? Taillights are set up to light up a specific, consistent way across all cars so there's no confusion. I've seen people doing this before and I'm baffled.

I can understand something like wiring up a euro-spec rear foglight (my GTI's taillights have a socket and reflector for a rear fog, but it's not wired up). But the original lights all work the same way when that's done, the rear fog is just an extra light that can be switched on and off...

along the lines of akadriver, you might want to rethink this mod, or at least make a switch to keep it normal when u want to... just seems like one more thing to say to traffic cops "hey! look at me! I have illegal stuff done to my car! come look and see how many violations your can come up with to ticket me for..."

A lot of traffic cops seems to have it out for riced cars (and nicely modded cars too), they group all the imports enthusiasts together and label them as punk street racers, so think twice before fueling the stereotypical fire.

Back in the day, we used to call these "AMBERS". This is when everyone had regular orange bulbs in their turn signals. What we did was used double filament sockets and bulbs and rigged wiring together controlled by a toggle switch. This allowed us for easy on/off access of the Ambers. When in the off position, the turn signals are just like stock. Blink only when turning. In the on position, the turn signals will be on and when you turn, the turn signals get brighter while staying on because of the dual filament. We used "Ambers" not for show, but for "sight" purposes. For example, when caravanning on the freeway at night, we would turn them on so you can see the leader or any of the team in the midst of all the red taillights of other cars. OR when challenging/participating in a race on the freeway, you can easily see where your rival is. We never had these on when regular driving, cause its illegal and dont want a ticket. It was always a risk doing it on the freeway, but never got pulled over for it.

BTW: Sorry, this post became longer than I expected

those oneline tails are nice but i think the 96 180sx tails are the best, nice compromise between the stock USDM tails and skyline tails.

I know a guy down in Torrance that did the oneline style lights himself with a pair of R32 tails he picked up in Japan.

there are also several coupes running around socal with the R32 tails now my friend Gary is doing it to his 91.
Though like what was said before the simplelest and cleanest is the 180sx 96.5 and up Kouki(round) tails . I have those on my car and its nice.

try connecting the other wire that cam from the light u used to get it to turn all the time, the negative wire, instead of the one u used, this may work, but i dont kno if it will cause any other problems so only do it if u are willing to bear the consequences
