KA24E Cam Advancing?

on the stock cam sprocket how many teeth can you advance and be safe or what does one tooth=to degrees of advancement?

also clockwise is advancing?

and

counter-clockwise is retarding?

I only need to know this because i think my cam is retarded to shit because i just rebuilt my motor and messed up lining up TDC on crank and Cam and need to know how much room i have for mistakes and advancement because it drives really slow and feels retarded

or just point me to a thread that goes over this but for all the searching i've done on a whole bunch of forums i have had no luck
