On the 95 base 240sx the differential only has one plug that I could see. So it this where I would drain it and refill it? I thought it would be like the tranmission where its has two different plugs. If there is, where is it? Thanks.
There are 2 plugs, just like on the tranny. The drain plug underneath and a fill plug 1/4 of the way up around, same height and side as the tranny fill plug. It's a bit hard to find and farther back on the differential than one would expect. Its actually as far back as the drain plug, so just follow a line up around the diff from your drain plug and you should run into the fill plug.

Ya...DSC had it with the fill plug. Its about 1/4 up on the left hand side of the diff.
If you're changing fluids, before you start may I suggest you go to parts store and buy an oil squirter gun. The ones that you pour oil into and theres a pump lever to squirt. Its impossible to get a bottle of fluid or a funnel in there. (at least I couldn't find a way.) I went out and bought the gun (they sell big 1 quart ones) and filled it with the gear oil, then just ran the hose to the diff and pumped the oil in.
Had to refil a few times, but it made it EASY!

Yes, definately you have to have something to aid you in pouring your oil in, other than just a funnel. I used a $10 hand pump from the local autoparts place with two hoses, one in the bottle of oil, one in the diff...just pumped until it overflowed and then stoped. Another (cheaper) way is to just get some 1/2" tubing, put one end in the diff, then a funnel into the other end. Hold the funnel higher than the fill plug on the diff (otherwise it won't work) and then just pour.
Also, I think the fill plug on the diff is facing backwards just like the drain plug. I'm not sure and I don't feel like checking <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> but I think it faces back...not to the side like the tranny fill plug.
