researched and researched, and the information is overwhelming....
looking to do 300whp on my big fp28 and 480 injectors and picking up a z32 mafs if anyone has one. in my redtop sr.
Im not very huge into doing huge horsepower.. and change tuning various times. Ive been leaning into getting an ethalpy tune, but my buddy has interested me into doing the Power FC for the price im paying to get it done.
from what i seen i see PFC go for around 600-700 used, where i would pay 500 for and enthalpy tune. People also say i still need to fine tune a chipped ecu with a safc... So it pretty much even out with price..also i will be using professional help to tune on dyno
I need opions on my setup, and experiences with these things since im lost.
and take in consideration i want to drive this thing daily.

get a rom tune.
Unless you know how to tune standaones or have a frined or aquaintence who is GOOD at tuning Standaone ems.

Enthalpy. Power FC is cheaper if you get a piggy-back with the rom, but ROM>Standalone

Enthalpy. Power FC is cheaper if you get a piggy-back with the rom, but ROM>Standalone
ROM < Standalone EMS- forever into infintiy.
The point is its better for his application. It doesnt sound like he's an experienced tuner, and you can easily blow up your motor if you don't know what your doing.
Piggy back + ROM tune equals lower than gypsie donkey shit.
NO! BAD NO! (hits nose with rolled up news paper).
Get a ROM tune that is for your specific set of mods that runs the car nicely or get a Power FC and take it to an experienced tuner who knows what he's doing and can build a good map from scratch for you application with either Datalogit or Excell.

Enthalpy ROM tunes don't need a fine tune with a piggyback especially for common setups that he's dynoed over and over again. Get it dynoed and if there is something you are unhappy with, send it back to him. He's real good about that stuff. And get a GT28R if you want 300whp. Quickest spool for that power level.
Power FC = 700 + $$$$$/TIME in tuning.
Enthalpy = 500 done and done

enthalpy is top notch,
problem with rom tune is that it's not specific to YOUR car, but it should be good enough for the most part
for your application, i'd suggest enthalpy, easy, plug and play
standalone with right tune >>>> rom tune

if u got j4 ecu like me you are fucked. but you got a redtop. id go with enthrapy cuz its cheaper even though im a big fan of power fc. that thing is killer the amount of shit it can tune. my friend got one on the rb26 its worth extra cash if you can afford

Agreed. Get the power fc if you are an expert or now an expert who will tune for free. Enthalpy has years and years of ecu tuning experince, how many do you have? Power FC is a powerfull peice of hardware in the right hands but you can quickly spend a multitude more then $700 if you pay someone else and or do dyno tuning.

Power FC. When you add upgrades, or change shit around, u just need a retune, and you already have a basemap to work off of. So the first time u tune, might take a couple hours of dyno time..after that, maybe an hour since the tuner has a base to go off of.. Power FC all the way. Dont take it to a tuner that doesnt have the Apexi software. The commander is only limited to the options that you need to tune. So the tuner MUST have the software to correctly tune the car.
