I was wondering if I need to get SFI certified seat belts to pass Texas state inspection? I was just going to buy a pair of "cheap" ones off ebay. Any input would be great. Thanks.

unless they're the DOT legal sabelt harnesses, you won't pass with any harness.

i dont know about 4-point, but schrothe has a 3-point harness system that uses an asm, it allows for the harness to act as a regular seatbelt, but like stated thats a 3-point system....and its legal in california, so you know its legal elsewhere...lol

Schroth too. But that's just what the books say.
However, they really could not give less of a fuck what you have so long as you have something like a seatbelt.
I mean hell, I avoided a seatbelt ticket by tying my OEM belt through the belt hole in my seat before a traffic checkpoint.
Never had a problem inspecting any of my cars in NC that had harnesses.
