This is what I've come across. An 89, with two-tone paint, fresh from five months ago. Flawless exterior with a single scuff on the rear bumper, about three inches. I can probably have it buffed/rubbed out. It has SR20 black top, front mount, full exhaust. Let me know what you guys think at this price.

Price is fair imo... maybe a bit high. Just make sure you thoroughly check the car out; buying fixed cars is a gamble. And, btw, you're bying a 240sx w/ SR not a Silvia.

It's a silvia in japan. I prefer to call it that. But, if you were trying to inform me that it was a USDM built car, I know.

prefer to call it a name that it is not?????? it's a 240sx the end. If we were japanland yes, a Silvia. None the less a clean coupe. From the sounds of it, you seem to want a car that is already prepped to go. Why not build it yourself for cheaper or at least to your needs.

Like Mano said purchasing a modified car is a gamble no matter how pristine it looks. In the end it's your money wasted not ours.

If you're gonna stick with calling every car a Silvia here, then prepared to get flamed with every post you do now. The price does look a little steep as it's still an 18 year old car, only with a newer motor and paint. I'd go for $7800 at the most. But then it's clean, so $8000.

Haha noobs... Price is to high..i can see asking 9.8k if he was running a t28 at 21 psi.. I say the cars worth 7.5k AT MOST and only that high because the paint looks nice, and it has AC.

Run the VIN....It's a 240SX, not a Silvia.

Hella clean. Price is far, but above market value everywhere outside of Florida and Cali.

That SAME car is on ebay right now. Saw it the other night.

I'm not a mechanic, I don't want to try and do something that won't be of quality in the end. This car was done by a certified technician, which gives me more "faith" in it.

^Bingo. That's a $5k car, max. I wouldn't pay a dime over $3500, no matter how great it is.
Sadly though there are people who only buy these cars because they read it's cool and don't even know what the fuck to call it, and will pay $10k for it. Go for it skippy, you seem willing no matter what our opinions are.

The car seems nice, and like everyone is saying a bit over priced. Personally, I like to build cars from scratch, so buying something that is done already isnt for me. But if you like the car I would say tell the owner you want to take it to a shop to have it checked and talk him down a bit, just under $10k is just way to much. Like some other people mentioned try to get him down to the $6-$7k range.

Next time don't forget your flame suit lol!

I wouldn't buy a car from someone who puts porsche badges on a nissan.

plus, it appears to have nasty rotas on it, he should refund you $500 to take those of his hands.

not worth $10K. $6000 at most, but only because it looks nice. and it isn't a silvia. anyone who argues otherwise will be flamed.

edit: ^^^ and it has rotas.

I cannot express the amount of sadness I am feeling from this "flaming." My self-esteem has now dropped to the floor. I am considering to commit suicide, as I am not accepted by you guys, for calling something another name. Please, end this suffering of "flaming" at my expense. I promise, I will never call it a Silvia again.

NOT!!!!

Not a bad looking car.
I figure about $7-8k would be a fair price. Unless those really are rotas, than knock at least $500 off the price.
Who cares what it's called, if calling it a Silvia makes you happy, call it that. It's only a few part #'s away anyway, people make such a big deal about lame crap like that anyway. Who f***ing cares anyway in the big picture of things.
If this car is what you've wanted and it checks out and you can afford it, buy it.
Don't let assholes like us get between you and happiness.

Hey now, you asked what we thought and we told you.

Zilvia has a rep for being flame friendly and eletist and a group of assholes, etc, etc, etc...

Now you know, go and buy it, don't go and buy it, this is all the internet anyway, take what you will from this thread.

I would not pay close to that asking price for that car personally, then again, I like to do all my own work and not buy into someone elses project, and there really is nothing that special about that car to warrant that price.

I'll leave the badge and wheels alone, lol.

You can't spell elitist. You are NO WHERE near an elitist. Trust me. So please, tell me how that flame suit held up, Mr. "Eletist." ROFL.

I'm still one of the newest users on here but, I'm pretty sure the best way to get advice around here is not by verbally attacking a 3+ year member of this site. If you want to get advice thats one thing, but if are going to turn this thread into post war defending yourself take it somewhere else.

BTW Lock this thread! It's done and is wasting bandwidth.

I never claimed elitism, thats just what I have heard about the forum. Being elitist is a state of mind, not a measurable attribute anyway.

Whatever man, tried to be nice about this thread and you spit in my face; kiss my ass.

lol... "You're future on zilvia looks very promising."

yeah this is internet forum, but you came on here asking for opinions. If you want to call it a silvia go on right ahead, but the point of your post was to ask about the car that you were looking to buy.

Now stop replying to the posts or parts of posts that have nothing to do with this thread and go buy the car or something.

Just make up your mind already.

You don't seem to want to take other's advice, so what's the point in asking for it?

Feel free to call any car whatever you want, but know that you're expressing your ignorance of the subject to whomever you relate the info to.

Make no mistake, a 240sx is not a Silvia or 180sx. It's a childish and petulant thing to be mad at others for correcting you.

So far, you're adding up to be a troll. You've asked a 'dumb' question that could draw flames, and then attacked the members who answered it.
Keep this negative behavior up and you'll find yourself with the rest of the trolls - banned.
