PICS (http://www.geocities.com/silviaparts2000/bars.html)
What do these do? And are they very hard to find in the U.S.?
Do you guys think if I sell them for $160USD + shipping for front and rear would sell? How heavy are they?
I only have them for S13
BTW, the car on the top says 210sx on the center panel (you can't see it in the pic), why is that?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

All those Do-Luck bars is stiffen the chassis. Yeah and im pretty sure you could sell them pretty quickly for $160, is it for both? or 160 for the front and 160 for the rear??
That would be awesome if you could get these! I would be down for a set.
The only person I know of that has these is Ty Yap on his s14 KA-T. But he only has the front bar. They just help to stiffin the chassis just as a strut bar or sway bar would.
Please let me know if your going to sell these <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Ok, looks like a lot of ppl are interested.
Yes, $160 for both. Actually, he told me these are second gen ones, the ones he has are the first gen, and they are black, and that's pretty much the difference if you care.
And yes, my friend has them now, he overstocked them a lot, and all these are from Hong Kong, he got them from Japan though. I am trying to find out how much they weight, because then I would know the shipping. Can someone give me an estimate as to how many kg they weight? Thanks. I am call my friend and ask him too. I will keep you guys informed when I find out everything.

The catalog itself is really clear, it says 210sx.
Id imagine they would be 2-5 lbs.
So in kg thats...
2 lb = 0.7465 kg
3 lb = 1.12 kg
4 lb = 1.493 kg
5 lb = 1.866 kg
When do you think we will be able to get a set of these? Thanks!

We still haven't answered the installation question.
How do these things attach to the car? Welds, bolts, etc?
Do we need to drill into the subframe or do they attach to pre-existing holes?
Just wondering. It might effect whether or not I get 'em.

you remove the bolt that hold the subframe up, put spacer in place, put bolt through spacer, and back through subrame bushing.. torque to specs. done.

For some reason, I put in his tracking number and it still doesn't work even though he got them already, but the post office told me it would work, so I am not sure.
I didn't really pay attention as to if they say Do Luck on it, but there is a instruction and it did say Do Luck on the bottom.

nope the tracking number never worked (I only tried it twice before they showed up). I do not see anywhere that says Do-Luck. On the instruction sheet it does say Do-Luck and there tele number. And they are black no chromed like the ones on the Do-Luck website ( i think I might get mine powder coated blue). Does say "all 13 50015 RLB" and "all 13 50010 FLB" on the mounting plates.

08-17-2002, 09:37 PM
just received the bars in the mail this afternoon. tracking # still shows no record of it, even though the bars are on the floor right next to me.
... as mazdog240 stated, they're black and only have numbers stamped on them.
... can someone else who received the bars check to see how many bolts, washers, and lock washers were in w/ the RLB? since there are only bolts (no nuts) i'm assuming that it screws right into somewhere on the subframe?
a few other random thoughts:
looking over the Do-Luck website I noticed a little side note the says: "S13 Super HICAS car installing failure"... so i figure they mean it can't be installed on an S13 w/ Super HICAS. strange that it would fit on an RPS13 (w/ HICAS) and not an S13 (w/ HICAS). would anyone by chance know why? also, would this mean that it would not work on Canadian S13 coupes (which i think were available w/ Super HICAS)?
anyways, just wanted to let you guys know that Francisco's a man of his word! thanks for the great buy...
i dont believe coupes can have hicas.
glad to see this is going good, may be the deal of the year, i cant wait for my student loan, then it's do-luck time...

Im going to play devils advocate. when I hear $160 for front AND rear DOLUCK ladder bars, from HK, a little light in my head turns on and screams IMITATION! COPY! FAKE!... its just TOO good. Please do not take this personally!! Im interested in buying these, but I just want to make sure they are the real deal! 1, Ive never seen or heard of the black, 1st gen ones... kind of fishy. The fact that they come from HK, the land of imitation arouses some doubts. because they come with instructions from do luck only tells me that someone has a photo copy machine. Most of all, $80 for a product that retails for 22,000 yen ($187) is a dead give away. If you can PROVE to me that these are DOLUCK products, youve got another customer.
And has anyone installed these yet? is anyone who bought them able to take hi res close up pics of the bars... ie the welds and such.
Once again, just playing devils advocate, nothing personal.
mazdog240
08-18-2002, 04:24 PM
Your thougths on these being fake knock-offs is very possible I have not seen any conclusive evidence that these truly are Do-Luck products, but the way I see it is that if these are knocks the are high-quality not some back of the shop in HK crap. ALL the welds and construction seems very well done, I would think it was computer/robotic welded, or some rather skilled welder. Anyways for the price you really can't beat them fake or not.
As far as bolts go I have:
FLB has 2 medium size bolts and washers
RLB has 2 medium and 1 smaller bolts and washers
What do you have?

the thought had also crossed my mind (about these being knock-offs). the first thing i looked at was the quality of the welds, which IMO are very clean. for the price i guess you can't really go wrong (or can you?, see below).
bolts: i received the amount that you listed...
i was just under the car this afternoon trying to figure how to install the RLB. the RLB is suppose to install in between the fuel tank and bumper. one side uses the existing bolts(?) that are on the bracket for the exhaust hangers, the other side, well that's kinda where i ran into a little problem... i can't seem to get the RLB bracket to sit flush... one of the straps for the fuel tank gets in the way and the shape of the bracket (on the bar itself) doesn't seem to allow the bar to fit in just right (it hits the bumper).
i'd like to think that i'm not hopeless <shrug> and i suppose that i could've figured it out, but it was getting too damn hot (90+ degrees)... i'll try again later on in the week and hopefully i won't run into any problems w/ the front <crossing fingers>...

I only seen them once when i was in Hong Kong, and they looked like they were very well made, and came with a paper that says Doluck on the bottom, so I thought there wouldn't be a problem. He told me he had many of these and he told me to see if I could sell them to the US for him, which I did, now, I am probably screwed for helping him. I will find out and keep you guys updated on this.

Well I just hit home depot and got a bunch of extra bolts and washer so hopefully it will work. after inspection of the bars I would have to say that I highly dought they are do luck. From other people I have talked to that have do-luck products they all say they are kick ass and high quality. My dad welded(I still dont know how) and I can tell you these bars my not be shit but they could be better. The welds are not smooth/professional at all but you can tell it will hold and thats all that matters. Bars do come in black... just dont expect them to stay that way. Mine are all scratch up already and I just got them out of the box. Disappointed.... kinda but hell you get what you paid for. I think someone that is a machinest should bust some of these out.
Side note - I got my subframe spacers from Greg dupree and let me tell you, this stuff is good quility. Like quality you would expect from zeal, nismo or sparco.

Hahahaha... Well I can assure you that you have to drill holes(TWO) in the passanger side RLB end, good luck!
Well I snapped the bolts that hold in the exhaust hing. No suprise since it was hella rusted. I tried to line the bar up and I think either it wasnt made right, my car has been rearend slightly, or im gimp.... could be any of those. Leaning towards a slight tap to the rear but after yesterdays b&m short shifter escapade(sp?) it could be im gimp. Also the gas tank holder/strap on the passenger side is in the way by about 4-8cm's, so you end up pushing against it.. again could be that my car has been tapped in the rear.
This is just a heads up to what you might run into if anyone else trys this.

Progress report -
Rear ladder bar is on....... oooooo is it so not even. If you step back about 10-15 and crouch you can see the driver side curved portion fine tell you get to the middle but you cannot see the passengers side because its up in the bumper.. OOO you ask how that is possible. Well you see with a grinder you can make things disappear... like portions of the bumper. If you see the doluck pick you can see how the whole bottom of the bar is visable. On my S13 the passanger side of the bar/curve was pressing against the back edge of the bumper which was limiting the holes(I drilled) to line up with the factory holes.
Doesnt look like it caused my chassie to set off so im going to finish bolting her up and test it. If it brakes well...

Ok back one on and it seems all right.
Lets talk about the front one..... 10 mins... yep thats it... 10 mins. It does try to hide from you though. There are rubber fillers in the hole that are hard to see if you car is a dirt ball like mine. To give you an idea where it sets... the center/middle of the bar will right in front/below the tran/engine connection.
I took it around and you can really feel a diff. Im not sure how you guys drive your cars but i drive mine hard and it shows. So when I pushed it I was suprised on the limited chassie flex and how even the body role was. Before body role would be diff depending on speed I took a corner. Not now, it seems to pretty limited no matter the speed.. well at least up to 65(tight hwy curve). I am still running stock shocks on the ST coils.
Well I assume if your ride has never had rear end damage(I didnt think mine ever did) the rear will go just as smooth but if it has... bust out the grinder our hit the body shop. Really I dont care cause its not enough to cause an issue now and im sure I will get even cockier and wreck soon anyways so I will have it take care of then.
Well now I need to but the subframe spacers on......
its 1:30 so sorry for any spelling/sentance screw ups....
AZN - Im still disappointed in you and false advertisment and product quality. Hope this changes the way you do business in the future.
