A buddy of mine has some for cheap. I think they look pretty good but do they do a good job of lighting, or would some aftermarkets be better??

Well, I think the fog light looks nice for style though. As for lighting, it kinda helps but not a lot.

The yellow looks like ass, but you can clear them and then retrofit HIDs like I did, looks pretty hot. Problem is most intercooler kits require them to get tossed.

Either way, $20 is cheap, buy them and resale them if need be.

Any better seeing with HID fogs or just more of a pure look thing? I'm tempted atm to buy some fogs as well for my base.

I also love lights too, so the purchase would be more cosmetic than anything. =x

Haven't driven enough at night to notice. Plus nothing is aimed correctly right now anyway.

Ah,

Yea, I currently want some better lighting. (Stock plastic lights until I get glass and go HID or Angels.) Always figured the fogs would help a bit with closer objects as the headlights do far.

I love my yellow fogs but not because they really aid in visability.

But because they aid in looks.

anyone who has them on there s14 knows that they make a difference at night, if your crusing down the interstate(low beams on) or a highway and you turn them off/ on...there is a big difference in being able to see, especially when its...um foggy out

goddam s13 guys posting on this thread...wtf do they know

They look mad goofy, but I can't comment on their usefulness.

I'd get them, if you decide they suck, you can ebay them for a profit.

The fog lights do illuminate the area between the bumper and where the head light pattern begins pretty well, especially if your car is dropped.

I think the lights look just fine on a stock bumper.

If your car is stock, go ahead and get them. If your car is modfied, then keep it sleeper.

How can you tell? You can't see straight at night anyway.

Personally I like the yellow fogs, to each their own. They are however completely useless at producing light IMO.

Please forgive him. His avatar is great! :aw:

The fogs do aid in the blind spot, as stated earlier. The yellow is just god awful IMHO. The HID retrofit sounds cool, but seems impractical.

You don't have to worry about cops if you aren't doing anything illegal.

Aw f' it man. Just buy them, if you don't like them then just sell them for profit. I heard standard brand new pricing is 300. Correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what I heard.

Hell, I may even buy a pair. One guy has 'em for 80, but no brackets and another has them for Mid-100's but it will need it's own wiring I think.

Idiots.

A foglamp has a low and wide beam pattern, much different from your main low/high beams. Its not supposed to make a night and day difference, its supposed to emit a beam pattern that is useable in poor weather conditions.

The yellow serves a function, the yellow wavelength pierces through rain/mist/fog better than a color that is higher in kelvin (white, blue). Going with HID isnt exactly ideal. If the lamp came stock with HID, then it would be acceptable - but those lamps are H3 halogen and never came in HID. Retrofitting it to HID creates a nightmare beam pattern that is good for the gutter.

If you want better lighting, first step would be to get to work on a better set of high/low beams. THEN, if you drive in poor weather conditions and see the need, install foglamps.

Assholes. Make me post...

BUY THEM.

they look good. they cut through fog really well, and they're pretty dam bright. all you gotta do is plug them into the harness (which is pre-wired on s14's), then just open ur steering column plastic and wire them. easy!

I have a signal/fog light switch if you want one. That's if you buy the fog light of course.

Like someone said, brand new they're like $310
You can turn them off so they're aren't going to get you in trouble with the cops. idk what that was anyways. Mine don't seem to be yellow or maybe I've just never noticed? They do help in fog though which ironically just happens to be there sole purpose
