Clear Corners actually sells their own version of that. You can send them your stock tails and they will clear them for you. I can gurantee the quality of the Clear Corners ones will be better. You might want to inquire from them about how much it would be. It should not be much more or the same price as that. Plus with Clear Corners they can do custom LED upgrades which are dope.

Actually Dave, we stopped selling those. No point since the 96-98 taillamps are superior in every aspect.

I probably dont need to repeat myself, but its pretty obvious that the 240sx is up there with the civic in being a beatup budget tuner car for the kids. Anytime you see shit taillamps being massed produced and sold for pennies, its because there's enough volume to justify manufacturing that crap.

right now ive got the turn signals painted the same color as my car so it looks like a thin strip of red light. I really like it however id like the egay ones better. I also dont have the money to send them to clearcorners but i think someone mentioned above that he stopped doing it. As long as they aren't completely clear they look nice, but if they are really clear or chrome :tweak:

If you black out the bottom I think it makes the rear look odd...I have a pic somewhere, but you get a straight light of red across the rear and it looks like an SVX or J30...

I like the car and I think Dave Coleman is badass...not for his styling which most of his choices are either already done or played out, but for his ideas when it comes to modding cars. I'm not saying anything he's done is revolutionary, it's just cool that he actually examines something from many angles before installing or modding the car in a specific way. A lot of guys just throw a bunch of parts on a car and then figure it's all done, the real work is tuning which many ignore.

Ricky Chu could learn a lot from Dave Coleman, is he even making 300whp from his SR20 yet LMAO

Finally I get to see how those eGay lights look on a car!!! BLECH!! Look at how the stock bottom bracket piece doesn't line up properly. You can see why the Kouki tails require a new lower piece. I almost bought the diamond cut ones shown earlier cause my tails are leaking bad And I wanted something new that didn't look too ricey. But now that I've seen them I'd rather wait.

Just spend the 500 bills on the real ones if you want them that bad. It's worth it, nothing beats OEM....period.

You gotta have at least full aero painted to even get close to pulling off altezza tails

Even stuff like the LED Hipposleek ones are hard to pull off, but with fully kitted it doesnt look THAT bad

I've seen these in person, and fitted right outta the box. For the most part, it lines up well, but there are always some areas that you'd have to hit with a heatgun to warp into place.

I think he got it, but was saying that he only had that opinion because he has knock offs and is too cheap to buy the real thing...though I agree $500 is a lot when you actually get nothing but a different look in return...

And ebay tails imo are not better than either OE tail (chuki/zenki or koukis) for the s13 hatchback...but better is a very subjective word, higher quality is easier to determine and OE has that by the boat load vs egay tails.

Well actually I was referring to the fact that nothing beats "OEM quality". You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Dont get me wrong I buy alot of stuff on eGay, but I buy this stuff with the full knowledge that it's not gonna have the same quality as an OEM or higher name brand replacement would. Which is exactly why I said I wouldn't buy the ebay tails..... quality for an exterior mod is too low. I have also been tempted to buy an ebay bodykit for a whopping 300 bucks, but the quality issue comes into play again. Fitment, durability, const. material type, etc.

I would say the only things I've bought on ebay where quality was above average was the 3" catback i got for $200, and the intake for $50. Those types of part I see as just metal tubing, they all do the same job, flow air. Same goes for the grounding kit, it's just 4 guage wire.

But I've also learned from buying ebay steering wheels, turn signals, interior carpet, that you get them cheaper due to manufacter quality (ie. leaky casings, no pre-cut holes for fitment, below average stiching).

So my reasoning is that there's certain things I'm definitely going to save money on, but exterior mods are a tough call since they're ALWAYS the first thing anyone sees when you drive by. Call me crazy but that matters, ALOT.

What about the $100 dollars you spent on the egay tails??? You could spent that on aftermarket handling/power upgrades.

I know why the leaks are there. And my point was that alot of HK lamps leak out of the box due to being poorly made (bad sealant job) As far as stock tails, yeah of course they're going to leak, they're 16 years old! New lamp casings should not leak. If your's don't leak then kudos to you.

Who said he payed $100 for those? LOL If you used thought for a second you would've noticed that those, "gaps" are shadows. I've seen those tail lights in person and there is zero gap due to the headlight design. Leaks? None. Or well non in Falkon's case. You need to use the propper sealant. I'm not saying it isn't possible. RD/QC isn't high for lower end parts like this.

As for me, I've bought kouki lights for all of my S chassis. Because that's my style.

I don't see anyone complaining about Origin tails. Those aren't oem yet still look/fit good.

Whether he already did that or not doesn't ignore the fact that he spent money on looks when he was just saying that koukis are too expensive and the savings allowed him to purchase suspension mods. Keeping the stock tails or buying OE replacements from a salvage yard would be cheaper and therefore allow him to spend more on suspension. This was my point, useless or not...

Either way like I said and many others have said...it's your car do what you want, but when you post opinions in a forum then you should expect to get opinions right back.

i dunno bro, i could not care less about s13s. in my personal experience with the aftermarket tails i have, they fit like stock, the bulbs go in, the holes line up, blah blah. most importantly, they look way cooler. putting tails on a car with no kit and weak rims is dumb anyway. talking about oem quality tails is the best when your 1500 dollar car is stock with 500 dollar taillights is total braindamage. worse than 50 dollar tails on a fully done car by FAR.

The reason those bend up are to avoid the cameras mounted on the highways. The cops here do not chase you. They let the camera get your pic coming and going....then they mail you a ticket. It is to make it nearly impossible to get a clean pic of the plate and #'s. If they cant read it, they cant ticket you.
