So I might be buying some Defi guages and a control unit of a freind of mine. when I was looking at them, the water temp guage was pointed at 40. Do some defi guages stay pointed at the temperature they last recorded or is this broken?

It's the Defi-link series with the control box if that makes a difference

if i remember properly, mie were all the way down.

not sure why it would stay up at 40.

but thinking... dont they start at 40 or something

I know they probably don't start at 40, but I was wondering if they had the option to stay at the last reading they took before the car was shut off.

might stay there when its turne off
IF its wired as ON OFF instead of corectly w/ the closing sequence
mine just stop wherever because i dont have the closing sequence wired in that way

so i wouldnt worry.

I'm pretty sure that's a recording feature

cant you just ask your friend?
not really a good friend if hes trying to sell you a broken gauge, but more than likely it's fine

naw, he's just as interested to know if its broken or not, if its broken I get it for free (yaay broken guages), if its not then I'll pay him. I'm prolly just gonna hook it up to a 12v power source and check.
