The car is a 97 S14 w/S14 SR20 that has had the auto to manual swap done, all this was done by the previous owner. So far I have wired the reverse light, speed sensor, but the neutral position switch I am not so sure anymore. I was told my Wiring Specialties that I need to wire the green w/yellow stripe wire from the sensor to the yellow wire (wire 1) on the 3rd plug down on the side of the fuse box and wired the black wire to ground. I got it all wired up, but then I read http://ka24development.com/cwilfert/S14_tranny_swap_electrical.html this and it says I need to run wires to the red/green wire on the ECU.
For the guys who have done this swap before, I know R240NA you seem to be the wiring guy here, am I right or is this website right? I know the website is for the KA engine, mine's an S14 SR.
Only reason I care about this neutral switch is that I know its necessary for the VVT to work.
Thanks

The auto harness has no provision for a neutral position switch to the ECU. You don't need it for anything other than to keep the CEL off, but if you're so inclined just run a pair of wires from the switch, ground one, and run the other to the ECU, on the manual harness it'll be a green/orange wire.

But the red/green wire on the ecu harness is that going to be the same for the SR ecu harness?

If it's a manual ECU harness then you'll have a green/orange for the neutral switch. Connect it.

Yes, I am bumping a 5 year old thread!
I hate to start new threads if its not needed. Ive been having idle problems while coming to a stop and it may be that the neutral position sensor is not wired up on my auto to manual SR20DET swap.
Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between S14 and S13 wire colors? (Looking at the link posted above) Also, the ECU plug is from an Auto as I modified the harness and have an RT ECU.

OK I am bumping this old thread lol.. Can you elaborate on the problems you were having when you came to a stop and if they are now gone once you hooked up the neutral switch?
Thanks
