FYI--garage s don't make carbon fiber hood and only make it for s14 kouki and s15, the reason I know because I've spoke to the owner of garage s about ordering one.
the carbon fiber hood is made by the factory that make it for garage s, but it's not garage s brand.
in japan 90% of the parts are not made in japan and most company outsource product due to lower cost and don't have to stock them.
all jdm parts are not rare unless it's discontinued, so anything is easy to get as long as you have money.
we can special order almost any aero part, but it's so expensive only a few 240 owner ever done it(ie carlos,nitekid,redsquare, etc)
rare parts for me are things you can't even buy anymore with money because it's discontinued.
1. MCR universal hood vent($360 new)
2. koffice seats
3. calsonic clock
4. blank s13 silvia key(the last set of 180sx blank key went to nadine)
5. s14 MF-T front grill/turning signals.
6. D.speed s14 kouki hood
7. Nismo carbon fiber steering wheel.
8. brand new watanabe steering wheel.
9. 180sx sealazone kit.
more to list but most are not s13/s14 parts.
that's how i started jspec was collecting rare parts for myself, it wasn't really to sell.

well i think my front lip is rare. its rare enough that ive only ever seen it on one 2 other cars on the internet in 5 years. (1 of which i bought it from)
and i dont even know the brand. Inside it says aeromagic. Im assuming some japanese company

URAS NS01 chrome wheels. Only set of chrome ordered from rare-trick in the US I believe, and the wheels are now discontinued.
and you can see my kakimoto GT1.0z exhaust in that pic too. no resonators, balls out loud, and It cost quite a pretty penny for an exhaust. was it worth it for the sound? Yup.

story of masa fenders
we order a few set long ago for customers, it was for the s13.
people think that japan it's like here very efficient and things are all instock.
no, aftermarket auto companies(factory even) are super small(rent is expensive) and don't stock parts only make parts on pre order.
some like masa don't even make it until they gather a batch of large order(it's easy to make 10 of the same thing at once then 2 or 3).
so to make the story short, it took us almost 4 to 5 month to get those fenders in.
a couple of the customer was pissoff already, one cancelled his order so we were stock with one pair.
I got so pissed at Masa I call raceonusa and sold it to them(you guys know the rest)
as for the s14 conversion fenders, later on we had to order it for a customer name richard so we ordered an extra pair.
yes, it took 4 to 5 month to get here again and we sold the extra pair to Innercircle for their show car.
well IC put them on and there were small flaws, being a perfectionist they modified the fender and make their own version(so that's why we said IC are the best fitting conversion fenders).
later on IC bought a set of s13 version and did the same thing.
anyway, my point is that aero are not rare, just extremely expensive and can be had if you have the patience.
masa now came out with version 3(but I think it's ugly due to big vents).

Just reiterating: We're looking for RARE things.

New parts that are still available and are imported on a regular basis, aren't all that rare.

Rare...YES. They will be the only ones in the US when we get back (full interior, front/rear/door pannels)! They are from the Autech MF-T S14 (rare even for Japan). They match the bumper Mr.Meph posted earlier.

i suppose these are rare. they are jdm power folding mirrors... but with jdm aero-visors. they have a small duct that catches air and routs it on to the mirrors. got them off a car at g speed corp. hook up..

I have a Dart Izumi exhaust on my S13, dunno if it's actually authentic, but it better be for the price I paid.

I also have Volk Racing Payton Place Queen II rims. 16x8+13 16x9 +13. I've never seen anyone with these, ever. Never seen any other Payton Place rims as a matter of fact. I had the matching valve caps, but some fucker stole them off the car! That's why I keep the center caps in my room. lol

My exhaust. I have no idea what brand/model it is. I think it might be HKS because of the 4-bolt flange. the muffler tip is 11.5inches by itself. the diameter is 5-inches.

That cf trunk is probably VIS...fiberglass with 2 layers of CF...

show me a CF hood, door, or trunk that doesn't have fiberglass layers under it, they are still alot lighter than OEM, which serves it's purpose if I'm not mistaken, I'd take one if I had the funds right now, rare or not.

nope srry they are definately hids. they have ballasts and such. and these other 2 guys got them from a different guy than i did. i had mine brought from china a long ass time ago. i had to wait like 4 months.

Whenever I get time I need to take some pics, but I do have a part and a question, I somehow ended up with a pair of front seatbelts with the weird arm that extends out and holds the belt out away from the Bpillar, the warning label is in Japanese so I'm assuming they're JDM, I recently saw a RHD S14 but it only had a driver side like that, is this standard for both sides, or an option, or really rare? Strange thing is, the lower anchor is on the belt backwards, so when you mount it in the car the buckle faces outside the car, so it's twisted when buckled. I may have to do some rigging. The cool thing is I now know what that little hole in the Bpillar panel is for below the anchor, it's to line up and anchor the extended arm. Sadly I epoxied mine closed two years ago.

look in the middle of my center console. its a flat piece of plastic that separates the area. you are able to hold a 12 oz. can size in the lower area without worrying about it tipping over. it came with my '97 when i bought it in '04. after a major accident and parts in the garage, roomate moving out, i cant find the damn thing! ive never seen anyone with it before. hopefully its somewhere in my garage or room. and i know i know, loose e-brake

From my understanding this is a factory optional wing for early 180SX models, it bolts straight into the stock spoiler holes, and supposedly it's rare even in Japan. I'll paint it red, with mountains of flake.

RHS13 as in Zenki S13? If what I was told is true then it would kind of support the story, it's likely that the wing was available as a factory option for the Zenki S13 hatchback in the U.S. as well. I guess nobody liked it or nobody cared for extra options for a 240 back in '89, that's why I couldn't find any pics of cars with it now.

Anyway, sorry I know this is not a thread for this, but I can't decide if I should paint it and put it on, do you guys think it looks alright or is it totally lame? I've always been all about de-winged cars up until recently (now I'm into huge GT wings and wings I can't afford), but now that I took it off after test-fitting it the rear looks really plain to me.

Well, I already bought the paint and supplies for it, and as I was getting ready to start on it just now, I decided that I need to resist all this temptation and stop getting distracted and save up for parts I actually need. So I guess I'm not installing it after all.

There are "Window Shades" that say 180sx and Silvia in the S13 script as well, to fit the other Chassis Quarter Windows.

What we were discussing was the "Rain guards", "smokers vents", "window visors" that go above the Driver and Passenger doors.

I have the coupe visors. Not installed yet but will post a pic asap. I will paint mine before install though. They have that old tint "pink" look so I'll spray them with tint spray before they go on. My S13 is black so they'd really stand out if I left them the way they are.

I have the coupe visors. Not installed yet but will post a pic asap. I will paint mine before install though. They have that old tint "pink" look so I'll spray them with tint spray before they go on. My S13 is black so they'd really stand out if I left them the way they are.

THEY ARE STOCK THAT COLOR. Why fuck up something factory?

S13 & S14 rear quarter glass visors arent rare, its just that no one buys them.

180 & S14 rain guards you can buy new, coupe visors are rare.

i dont think its gonna look that bad. just because its oem, it doesnt mean you can not modify it. and originally they came black in color. over time they fade. i should know mine are new and will eventually fade pinkish on me.

I dont know what your looking at on my car, but I dont have those window visor things. The only thing I can think your referring to is the sunroof? My car is 100% stock body, no junk attached. So you might as well just look at any stock s13.

My front gaurds.
I have never seen another, the difference is they are wide and flared, all s13 wideguards I see are just a buldge, and dont have any flare. They might be custom, couldnt find a brand mark laid in the fiberglass on the back.
The AB-Flug front bar is also hard to find, but there are a few around but not that many, not really rare just not common.
The mirrors are eastbear, harder to come by but not really rare, they are fully electric
The wing is also genuine AB-flug, not that common out of japan.
