in the process of completing this J30 install when i run into another problem. ill try to describe this the best I can. the "backing plate" area 1 is rubbing against the caliper boot which doesnt look right and im pretty sure will tear the boot. area 2 doesnt get in the way until i tighten the caliper. im probably doing something wrong.... :-/

Yea your doing something wrong, your using the stock caliper. So basically your trying to go 5 lug hub but wanna keep the stock rear caliper and disc ebrake instead of upgrading to teh J30 rear calipers and drum ebrake setup, why would you not upgrade it the correct way with all J30 equipment.
It be much easier if you just got NA Z32 or bought rear 5 lug hubs to retain the stock disc ebrake.

Well you could do it if you cut off all the J30 backing plate but what a waste of a J30 backing plate if you ever decided to upgrade your brakes, but you would need S14 SE rear rotors.

Actually to do it the right way take it to a shop that can press bearings and have them press out the hub from teh spindle and then you can remove that backing plate that way without destroying it and you could reuse later if needed.

pm me if you decide to go that route, I can get you all the J30 ebrake stuff you need to have a functioning ebrake.
