Hows it going out there beyond the computer montior? Well, I have a question about cleaning your rims. What are some good ways to clean the dirt and grime on your nice polished rims wiothout having them damaged?

I use meguires car wash soap and one of my old microfiber rags to clean them. Every now and then I'll apply some wax to them. If the lips are polished, I'll use neverdull.

^^I wouldn't recommend using the magic eraser on anything with a clearcoat.

^^ meguiars makes really good stuff i think the stuff i use is called meguires hot wheels or somethin like that...idk its one of their wheel cleaners and its supposed to be non corrosive...i usually wash the car, wash the rims with soap and water and a sponge, use some tire cleaner, wash the wheels and tires again with water, then throw on some of that wheel cleaner, wash again, then get in the cracks with a terry cloth towel, wash again, make sure everythin is good, throw on some tire shine and be done...you def dont have to do all that but i like to

depends if ur rims have a coating... or not... but pure alluminum... i love eagle1 alluminum wheels cleaner.. works goood if u read the direction correctly, although i love it when ppl who fuck their rims up from not reading it.. and they get white spots.. puhahhaha!
it also works good for valve covers and intake manifolds.... cleans everything right up... has to be alluminum with no coating...

I use Armor all wheel cleaner. Then use a light brush to get to tough spots. Let them dry. Then use to aluminum polish to make the rims bling bling. Then you can spray some tire wet to to finish it off.

if ur trying to polish lips:
wash it down..soap (not dishwasing soap..auto zone soap.) and H20
( cuz diswashing soap has harsh compounds in it that scratch)
turtle wax rubbing compound.
and some kind of quik detail..maybe meguiars...
then bling bling.

How do you figure out if your rims are aluminum.. i have some volks (Front) and stichs (rear).. i know that they are forged 2 piece. they are a polished design. sorry for being such a noob.

I think most wheels are aluminum. But i think its if a magnet doesn't stick to them.
Pretty much all aftermarket wheels are japanese

If you have a nice polished finish on ur wheels, stay away from the wheel cleaners that is spray on, then hose off type cleaners. Or if you do, just dont leave it on too long, I acidentally did and it ruined the lip. Stuffs to strong for the clear coats.

Any of the chrome polishes work well, but the secret is to use a buffing wheel and not just elbow grease. I strap a 6" buffing pad to the end of my Dewalt and let her ride.
And Simple Green is the best cleaner/degreaser out there, and you can use it on anything.
