none of them, but the buddy club spec 2 could be just as light if not lighter then titanium being just a small resonator and all pipe.

Ti exhausts run like $800....but I guess there worth it for weight savings....

URAS RS, 3" no resonator, slight bends, small muffler before the tip. Light!

Go to a local muffler shop and ask them to bend you a 3' straight pipe all the way back. Or not even all the way back, one bend coming out behind the front wheel would prolly net some gains. I'd be surprised if it runs you more than 500$.

i think pretty much any 3" free flowing exhaust from the turbo-back w/ straight piping, and catless would work good. unless there are actual dyno comparisons to compare one brand to another, its all just speculation imo.

as for weight savings on a Ti exhaust, is the weight savings really significant enough to justify the premium. for the sake of function and practicality, i really doubt it.

on a side note, arn't most aftermarket downpipes not fully 3"? IIRC they all have 2.75" or 2.5" bottleneck. that's prob something else to look into.

When it comes to exhaust, imo its mostly sound that matters. Of course there are slight weight differences. It depends on how much money you are willing to spend and the looks; whether you want an offset, dual tip, etc. You can even go with a ebay one if you are on a budget. As long as you keep it 3 inch and like others have been saying, running no cat and the less bends possible will yield more power. If you have tons of $$$ look into the Yashio Factory exhaust. my friend has one in oki and loves it, plus its rare as hell...just my .02.

or just dump it straight down after the downpipe.

or just dump it straight down after the downpipe.
And die from exhaust fumes...

Tit exhaust is alot lighter than ss. If you have the money to spair go for it. But I'd suggest going turbo/header back with a 3" custom setup. Toss an Aspec muffler on it and you're done.

muffler shop = win. you can get one made to the exact specs that you want, and it'll be cheaper.

The biggest exhaust you can run in a turbo'd car is the one that doesnt fit... so why stop at 3"?

you guys that are going to muffler shops, do they mandrel bend or crush bend?

the best thing i like about custom exhaust is you can make them hug the car and that gives you more ground clearance.

Taniguchi_Is_#1
02-23-2007, 05:56 PM
^^ depends on the shop. one of the shops i go to uses crush bent, the other can do both.

you are trying to make a track car, and cant decide on an exhaust? thats like saying you want to swap out an engine all on your own, but have never picked up a wrench. dude. cmon. use some common sense. if you have an assload of a budget, get the lightest Ti exhaust considering how expensive they are. if you dont have much money, buy used. tanabes are very light weight and can be had for a good price. if turbo setup, 80mm piping. bigass turbo setup pushing 500+ whp, piping +90mm. na, 60mm. you shouldnt be on the track if you dont know these basics. set a decent goal for your car, and then think about what you need to do to it.

Well the most important thing about that is the fact that there are no mufflers or resonators....

that saves weight

also, have them cut your downpipe flange off and make it one piece after the turbo elbow

flange=weight

no flange=weight saving...

technically speaking
