alright, these seem to be the new federal 595s.

they are called fierce, by goodyear. Ultra High performance tire.

Released in the end of august but no one could get them since they had to ship out and etc. So now they are here.

Anyone heard ANYTHING on these? the prices seem AMAZING.

FIERCE Ultra High performance summer tires(Manufactured by Goodyear)

http://www.fiercetires.com

These are the prices in CANADIAN FUNDS. These prices include mounting and balancing from my local tire store so subtract $40 CND from those prices and you get the price of these tires in your hands.

check it.

FIERCE UHP 205/55ZR16 91W $380/set CND
FIERCE UHP 205/50ZR16 87W $370/set

FIERCE UHP 235/40ZR18 91W $630/set
FIERCE UHP 265/35ZR18 93W $750/set

almost the same price level as your cheap but awesome federal 595s.

i'll be grabbing a set soon since these prices are LOW LOW.

i think these will be the new cheap but grippy drift tire. just hope they don't belt or grease up.

I would be curious myself, I was planning on picking up a set of federals, but shipping from CA kicks my ass on the price, if these would be comprable, they might be an option.

Yea, and no 235/40 17, FAIL

overb0ost
02-22-2007, 01:46 PM
if you actually convert it and subtract the $40 balancing and mounting fee, it is almost the same.

225/45/17 for federals are about 70-75$ USD

225/45/17 for fierce is about $85 USD unmounted and taxes in. (converted it to USD$ and subtracted the mounting and balancing fee)

you have to remember, this is MY local tire place. you guys in cali and etc can probably get them for cheaper.

$10 difference can be easily adjusted depending on many factors, so yes, these are certainly the same price range as federals.

these are also 420 treadwear and are traction AA.

a bit higher treadwear rating i think then the federals or very similar.

I know they're cheaper than 430$ a set.
I know federal always sponsors cars/events in drifting. I like That.

$430 a set? yes unmounted BUT thats a CANADIAN price.

$340 USD is the price converted but you guys can probably get it cheaper.

the prices above arn't offical website listings or whatever, thats the price breakdown from a LOCAL shop.

anyways ill try these and writeup a review since ive also driven on 595s.

might as well have a wider span of choices just incase federal decides to increase prices.

i have the fierces on my car, got them from a guy i traded some stuff to way back last october when they first came out, all i have to say is they are actually pretty good and wear great, and they arent really a new tire the are just a re-labeled fulda carat tire also made by goodyear, but not bad for how cheap they are

The Nexen N3000 is aight.

it doesn't fall apart... it grips ok... it feathers bad though, which is gonna make a racket if you drift on them then keep them for daily.

for 70$ for a 235/40/18 its about as much as you can ask.

Every time I see a Nexen or Federal tire on a car, it reminds me of the pathetic bargain-basement Sears blowout tires I see on '94 Explorers with purple tint and extreme sun damage.

I've heard good things about the SS595s, but you'll never see them on my car unless I got a pair of 225s for dirt cheap to go on my spare wheels. However, if you're burning through several pairs of tires at every track day, you have to either have deep pockets or make compromises to stretch your money. The Federals are a nice compromise for the rear. For the front, I think they're a bit on the cheap side.

I daily on AD07s and RE01-Rs. I've tracked on both; currently running the RE01-Rs. They're expensive and I'm not made of money, but they're absolutely worth the price for me. I'm willing to accept that I'm going through a set of expensive tires every few thousand miles for the amount of fun they give me. Everything about them is top-notch.

The Fierce tire line and website obviously cater to today's idiotic youth, who are more willing to spend money on an in-dash DVD player than on the four hoops keeping their wheels off the road. Considering the dearth of true unadulterated, unadorned performance available to consumers in the sport compact market, the Fierce line was entirely predictable. I hope it dies quickly but it won't, as made abundantly clear by the success of Megan Racing, SSAutoChrome and all the other bargain basement brands.

Aren't you drag racer mcgee or something?

If killed tires as fast a drag racer/autocrosser/dailydriverwhoohoo i could be rolling on A048s with custom 90% platnium content or something.

But I don't, and when you kill 4 new tires in a month you need something easier on the wallet.

Damn dude, I was gonna say.. fuckin IN YO FACE. I completely agree.

What do I run? I run bridgestone tires, cause I like them. I'de rather have less mods and better stuff, than a bunch of pieced together garbage.

its very simple, i picked up a set of RE01R's. before that, I had S03's.. and if I am on a budget.. I've had RE750's. Before those, I had RE730's.

if a tire makes screeching noises, its garbage in my opinion. all the good quality tires ive ever purchased have been silent.. and even when at the limit, they just smoothly break adhesion.

easier on the wallet? maybe you need to move out of your parents house, get a real job that actually pays you in US Dollars and not in Peanuts.

seriously, what size rim/tire combo are you running where you cant even afford a basic bridgestone or yokohama tire?

yep yep.. its all about being a drifter nowadays. rattle can paint jobs and pieced together cars.

i run AD07s and RE01s when i can
got 2 new AD07s sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted (lazy)
federals for the drift (tire cost)
if i had more money, id run the baller tires 24-7
but i cant because im not super rich.

im just saying, if you cant justify spending money on good stuff.. then jesus, atleast go buy used tires. used tires are a dime a dozen and plenty cheap. i had tons of used tires when i was broke. just inspect them and make sure they are in good shape, and burn the fuckers. theres no reason to buy new SHIT tires, when there are plenty of old shit tires.

I buy used tires alot, (S-03, FM901, RTs etc.) but I'm just curious about the SS595, so I'll give them a try because they're cheap.

I'm currently rolling on a full set of FM901s 225/45/17 that I pieced together in pairs for $220.

I like to stunt, but I'm poorer than everyone who has been saying Feddys are sick.

I am not too sure about 595s in the front for drifting, but in the rear for SURE. What's a good daily driver/grippy tire that's DECENTLY priced in you guys running baller tires? Kumho MX's?

lol... wtf.

Federal 595SS's are the shit. 200$ a set? 120$ event fee? I'm in an event for as much as you spent on just your set of tires. And at my level, my driving ability, and most importantl

Some of us just can't afford 800$ in tires for every event. Plain and simple truth.

I WANT to buy the good shit, but realistically theres a balance you have to make, do you want to save up for months on end to get the good stuff, and perform great? Or do you want to just get something satisfactory, and get out there and have fun? It's balance.

And unfortunately many of us are on the lower end of the spectrum. These are cheap cars you know? You're not talking to BMW and Ferrari people here, these cars cost 2000$, to expect us to pay half our cars value in rubber is a little ridiculous.

Hate away, but I have made myself a decently performing drift car from Megan Racing "crap", knock off wheels and Federal 595SS's, the products perform FANTASTICALLY, that's right fantastically, and the money I saved I used to buy fucking event fees so I don't have to spend my time sitting on a forum talking shit about "bargin bin tires" while I wait 6 months to save up for a fucking pair of tires, instead I'd rather go out and burn them up.

One day I'll make enough money to buy name brand shit, and that'll be great. But talking shit on those of us that can't afford it, well, bite my ass.

alright i got a set of these new fierce just to wrap my new rims.

215/40/17 front
225/45/17 rear

cost me $368 USD mounted and balanced for the set.

i heard they retail pretty high, like around 500ish for the same size.

rim specs are 17x9.5 +15 all around. price was cheap and size was alright and they look nice. concave, just how i like it.

the rubber comes with a rim protector so the stretch isn't soo apparent. not bad. havn't drove on them yet since its still snowing up here.

Uhh..

besides having to change tires every 20 minutes at a drift event.

pair of new nexen/federal/whatever last me all day, meaning I don't have to dick around jacking my car up and crap.

Also, Consistancy > * If I buy Nexens, I get the same crap tire every single time. not mystery junker bridgestone I bought off ebay that is gonna be different from the next pair of junker bridgestones I get off ebay.

I wouldn't touch a fucking N3000 on the front of my car. but for now its good enough to use in the rear.

I use Toyo T1R in the front because it has more grip than I need and I don't want to be crying myself to sleep when a course involves front brake lock.
