[B]I'm new to this site...I have a 1995 240sx with an automatic transmission. I've heard of people making their 5-spd. cars turbo, but none with an auto. I was just wondering if anyone has done this before and how well you guys would think it would stand up..It will be my daily driver for a while, so I will only be running about 5psi. Please help!!!!!
Thanks, Brittany <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

automatic...mmmmm.mmmmmm
the tranny will not hold at high boost levels but as for 5psi, it should be fine.
there are a couple of ppl i know that have an automatic turbocharged 240sx and they love it. i believe it is no different from turbocharging an manual 240sx

Hey!
I have a turbo 240, and an automatic tranny.
It is ok. There are a few problems with it... like the Manifold Air Pressure sensor. It calculates the ammount of air pressure in the intake manifold, and determines when to shift. With a turbo, there is always more air in the manifold, and it always shifts late. Going 30mph down the road in 2nd, until I totally let off the throttle, let it shift, and lightly add the gas.
Aside from that, there aren't any problems that I've experienced or heard of.

I think lag in an auto with 5 psis would just be total disaster... You should rethink your trans.
