Mine is the same color I am painting the car 2007 Honda Fit Vibrant Blue Pearl. Came out good I rattle can'd it with base and clear from http://www.paintscratch.com/
Just used aircraft paint remover to get the stock red off and then cleaned it really well with towels and brake cleaner. Then went to town with the rattle can. Didnt prime, didnt really see a point. Its held up well no complaints, and I get sooo many compliments on it then they are dumbfounded when I tell them its a rattle can job.

edit: I painted the base and then used a 4" round power sander with a 400 grit pad to remove the paint from the raised section then cleaned it really well and clear coated it.

Yeah not sure on paint remover cost but most autoparts stores carry it, ie kragen pepboys. Not much $5 or so. 1 can of clear and 1 can of base. I think it was like $35-40 not sure you can check on paintscratch.com

Do you have any more pictures later in your buildup? I'm interested to see how you routed your IC pipes.

Does the breather nipple unscrew from the v/c?
It's not threaded (at least it wasn't on my S13 Type-X) and just pulls out if you rotate it and pull.
