so since i am new to the 240 world, i have been soaking up all the info i can. As i was outside giving my car a much needed tune up... you know, fuel filter, air filter etc etc. I noticed the fan had cracks all around it, not the blades of course. It looks like itll break in due time. I overheard someone at my school talking about an electrical fan replacement that removes the original fan assembly that also releases a few horsepower. I think they mentioned something about using an Altima fan or Taurus fan or something. Can anybody fill me in on any of this? I'm gonna look into getting a fan blade replacement. OH yea i forgot, I also have a KOYO radiator installed.
P.S. i dont react well to flaming. Do you & I a favor by not replying

1. Don't ask not to get flamed. If your thread's content is shit, it'll happen regardless of whether you want it to or not.
2. You can use an Altima fan or a Flex-a-lite. I've also heard more and more people using the Taurus fan.
Since I have no experience with either the Taurus or Altima fans I can only tell you that FAL fans are well worth the money and easy to install.
For what it's worth, there's a website floating around out there that tested a bunch of differetn fan and radiator set ups on a 240sx. If I remember correctly, the Altima fan with a certain type of radiator produced the best results.

haha right on man, thansk for all of the replies! yea about the flaming, it was only a comment, everything ive asked since joining..... ive had asshole like comments thrown at me. there is only one way for a newbie to learn, if they have problems searching for it, sometimes i do shit even the superior ones search too...... but but for us noobs to learn we must hold discussions with the teachers that KNOW IT ALL lol...... i can understand being flamed if its a retarded question thats so simple to search and find, but sometimes its just too much. thank you all for the help! i am trying to get my new 240sx going from feeling 160k miles to 100k lol its running much smoother with new spark plug wires, fuel filter, airfilter...... tomorrow is the belts and waiting for my plugs and i got more planned for it

Negative... Altama Fans provide the highest air flow out of any other Fan on the market... However this did not effect the cooling if you look at the Heat Soak Test. C&R Double Pass w/ 16" High Profile Fan w/ Ducting is the best overall of everything tested!!

they have a whole write up on the taurus fan conversion, http://houston240sx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2444 , check that out its a pretty good write up. i myself have the taurs fan with a koyo, and i can say that with the fan on, i can redline all day, and then just sit at a light with the ac on and the car will not over heat, although i also replaced the thermostat and the water pump, and all radiator plumbing,, but yeah it works great.
