I think I remember hearing about a guy doing something like this.. and he took it in the desert to test it and died...

The guys trying to break the land speed record in the US are using a modified airplane... it was on the Discovery Channel.

the car has two engines, it still has the stock front engine and also has the rear jet engine

Dunno if that ones real or not but I've seen them make a jet powered type s I think it was on monster garage a year or two ago, topped out at 2xx mph in a matter of seconds if I remember correctly...

Edit: It was a celica...

I think what alot of your missing is the fact they are not using the "thrust" of the jet to move the car. They are using the rotational torque, just as you would with any other engine. The turbine is hooked up to some type of transmission, then a driveshaft, then a diff, then axles. It is not just blasting thrust out the back of the car and propelling the car down the road. :duh:

It's not a JET ENGINE, it's a TURBINE ENGINE.

A jet engine rotates?

:keke:

EDIT:
"Barry": Ok, adressed the difference between JET and TURBINE as well.
"Barry": Now your post looks silly.
"Evan": Awwww, I'm still cool though, right?
"Barry": Ummmm.....

for some reason it doesnt look real

the sound never changes, its always at the same volume even when he is pulling away.

ThatGuy

Unholy, it's most likely a small turbine used for auxillary power on aircraft. They are not variable vane and you don't change the RPM.

Check out the Y2K motorcycle. It uses the same technology.
