The Power Glove worked like shit. If anything make a new one with our new tech. The Wii-mote works how the Power Glove was supposed to.

Know what sucks? The company I work for(Rhino Video Games) just got bought by Gamestop and they (Gamestop) are destroying our entire distribution centers inventory of NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn, and maybe even N64.
There has to be over a couple thousand unique games, including really rare titles, that they are putting on destroy pallettes and sending to their field destroy facility. It has to be some notable percentage of the older games in existance that they're just going to destroy.
Makes me hate them even more, and that's hard since I'm losing my job because of them.

^ You can't buy them up? Seems odd that a company like Gamestop would completely destroy games like that.
The guy at Gamestop was trying to tell me about how they bought out some company in Florida, I didn't know he was talking to me until like halfway through the conversation. Then he finally told me they sold out of Wii-motes and I left lol.

Yeah, that would be us. I work at the corp. office of Rhino and we're all being fired in two weeks. We tried to barter with them to get some of the stock they were destroying but alas, no success. It's a shame.
They don't sell them any more at their stores so they have no use for them.

The first of these sets, the Control Deck, retailed from US$199.99, and included the console itself, two game controllers, and a Super Mario Bros. game pak. The second bundle, the Deluxe Set, retailed for US$249.99, and consisted of the console, a R.O.B., a NES Zapper (electronic gun), and two game paks: Duck Hunt and Gyromite.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/44/Gyromite.gif
R.O.B was your 'buddy' that helped you navigate the levels of the game by moving ledges, etc. My siblings and I had the regular set but some kids in our building had the Deluxe one. We were so jelous then but in retrospect R.O.B never took off. Duck Hunt and the laser gun were a far better/fun product.
As mentioned, the Power Glove sucked and was too expensive to boot. I remember how it was showcased in the film "The Wizard" with little Fred Savage. Super Mario Bros 3 was also unveiled to the general public in that movie.
As far as optional accessories, the joystick -other than the laser gun- was the best one.

That ans the NES Satellite. Allowed 4 people to play. Super Off-Road with 3 friends was the shit!
Don't foget. Not only was that game previewed but they showed you how to get the whistle.

I wonder if they're just stashing them away and plan to sell them as collectables later on.
Penny Arcade - awsome web comic: penny-arcade.com - gave away a similar NES collection at one of their first PAX conventions a few years back.

It's probably cheaper to destroy them, then to actually try to resell them. That and they are probably looking for the extra space.

I can see it happening. Most original NES fans are in their 30s now. I'm sure some of them have the cash to spend trying to capture their childhood.

I'm 22, I remember getting my first NES when I was a kid. I had to have been like 2 or 3. It's one of my first memories.
I remember schooling my mom in Mario Bros. for top score on each level :mephfawk:
But who's mom is good at video games, or maybe she let me win, haha. :aw:

I thought about doing that. but then Nintendo released this miracle called the Wii and the Virtual Console. Sure not every NES game will be on it, but I'm sure most of my old favorites will. Plus SNES, Genesis, and TG16. What more can I ask form? :rawk:

It's not quit the same. Yea their free, but playing your favorite old games on an old system just can't be emulated on your PC.
When I finish my video game room in my lowere level I'm gonna go buy every old console I can find and have'em up on shelves all around the room.
I can't wait to do that project.

I have R.O.B.
I have NES
I have the gun
I have the 4 player thing.
It is pretty hard to find games anymore.
I have to buy off of ebay.
Finding games at stores is near impossible.
Last game I bought for it was The Karate Kid off ebay.
Worked perfect.
I wonder how much I can sell ROB for...

i still have my old nintendo..... but what i am really looking for is the second version of the NES. it looks like a SNES but it's a NES, supposed to be the best one because u insert the game on top plus no more blowing, and no more freezing.
EDIT, i found the pic, thank god for google:
