Had issues getting the clutch to engage before I left for Thailand...I was leaving soon so didnt have much time to check it out...I had started to have issues getting in 1st or Reverse from neutral, then heard a snap and no more clutch engagement. Wasnt sure if it was the Pivot Ball or the pedal bracket. Well since I was leaving I didnt really have time to get in and mess with it. Before I left I bought a new HKS Pivot Ball, Throw out bearing set, and a Nismo Clutch pedal bracket just incase. I got back last night and checked it out thoroughly today in the daylight, turns out it was the bracket. It appears that it had broken a bit which was causing the issues of not being able to get into gear smoothly....the plunger to the Master Cylinder wasnt going in straight since the bracket was bending at a break...when it finally went, it went hard..totally snapped in 4 places which is why I couldn't get the clutch to engage anymore. Here you can see the 2 brackets side by side for comparison....the difference I see is extra welds right where it snapped on the Nismo one.
...shit is fixed and I am back on the road...here are some pics:

That happened to me. The OEM unit is very flimsy. Mine snapped in half.

wow that is nuts, never heard of that before
you guys must have some crazy leg muscles or clutch kick sideways
nice to know there is an upgrade i guess
seems another option is to maybe beef up the stock one with an extra bracket / set of welds?

it happened to me before too, but that was my fault cuz i didnt have the upper bolt in. Rust at the spot welds didnt help either, and it was from a front clip that was sitting outside for who knows how long.
I bought a new oem one that is painted black, any chance it's the nismo one for the S14?

^^ Did you not have the top bolt in due to it stripping out? I had that problem as well last year when I changed out my slave and master cylinders...I retapped it though and now it's fine..
I do not clutch kick sideways, from what I am gathering, it is a common problem with S13's....
I agree, reinforced welds would help the OEM one...thats why I posted the pic, to give you an idea of where it snapped, and shit

when you install the nismo unit do you just swap over the old spring to the new unit?

he did get a nismo one, but if you were replying to me i got this one

not sure if its nismo or not but it looks 10 times better than the one i had
You could swap over the old spring, but i decided i wasnt gonna be cheap and bought EVERYTHING new. Not like the spring was expensive anyway

I re used the stock spring.
After one day I can tell you, this shit feels good. Feels like I got a new clutch. I must have had a break in it for a while and a little play before it grenaded. Shit is in and out like burger. Can't wait to kick it:2f2f:

I bought mine at a local speed shop that carries them. Before you ask, by the time I buy it for you and ship it, it would be easier for you to get it in the states. Have you tried the Nissan Dealership? The guys in this thread may be able to help as well since they have gotten one.
Someone hook this guy up with the info on how to order from the states.
