hey guys, i got a problem today in my S14. when i turn off my car and then turn it back on again (after any amount of time) the clock resets to 1:00 and the stereo turns off and goes to demo mode. earlier, i was driving and the stereo just turned itself off. i pressed the button and turned it back on, thought it was kinda weird.
as for electronics i have a Viper alarm and a JL audio sub that has been unplugged for 2 or 3 days.
any ideas of what could be wrong? the other electronics (dome light, headlights) still work fine when the key is out. this is kinda annoying and i dont want this is cause anything else to happen. any suggestions are appreciated
thanks,
Greg

the power for all those things is on one fuse (the accessory I think) so check that first. then check the wire to make sure it isn't pinched. if its not that then check the relay its on.
or
just say screw it and run another wire

lots of cars have a backup fuse that a small amout of goes though to keep things like time and radio presets when the car is off....its not the same circuit that powers the item when you are using it.
chances are its just a stupid lil fuse or something but I can't say before because I can't recall if 240s have a fuse for that but i'm sure they do or its linked into another one somehow.
MAGILLA: would there even be a relay with the tiny amount of current thats going to it? would seem to make it more complicated than it has to be? (why run small amount of current to switch on a small amount of current when you could leave something so small just always on?)
good luck solving the issue

thanks, that sounds like what it would be. ill check all the fuses in the morning. i looked an found nothing. and my sub isnt working either (it might have nothing to do with this problem tho).
should i take it to the dealership? keep in mind i have an SR/heavily modified 240
