When I drive my car it feels like it has hicas. It can be dry and the back still feels all squirly, like something in the back end is broken or lose. I dont see or hear anything unusual. Tonight I was driving in the rain and I almost drifted off the road a few times just doing 40. My tread is a little low in the back which has something to do with it bad sheesh, That much? Has anyone else had this problem?

Oh boy.... What does the internet have to do with anything? Drifting, sliding, hydroplaning what ever. So what do you call it when its not raining outside? Am I hydroplaning on air?

It could just need an alignment. Looks like your car is lowered, so do you have adjustable ruca's? (rear upper control arms) If not the added camber can make it feel all squirrely.

Also, put the rear of the car up on jack stands (block the front wheels!) and check the bushings in the rear of the car. If any are worn and have play, replace them as that will definately cause some weird behavior.

Also, even check your rear end. Does it feel stiff or anything but smooth? Change the fuild in it if it never has been done before.

did you get a printout of the alignment specs?? Aligning 240s with adjustable everything is a major PITA, trust me, I do alignments for a living. Chances are if your car feels that unstable in the rear when you're not under heavy throttle its because the rear toe is out of whack. I would bring it back to the shop that did it and have them check it to make sure nothing has slipped. Also make sure they're adjusting everything you have to play with, not just rear camber and front toe.

Thanks. The rear toe is exactly what I was thinking.

wheel bearing. check your axle nut, the one in the center of the wheel, its 26mm try tightening it, might by you some time if thats the problem.

could also be shot ball joints.

well now that brewster here has cleared up where the axle nut is located...and its specs..you should be just fine........?

seriously thoguh just seeing the one shot of your s14 from the rear besides the camber it looks like atleast the pass. rear is toed in a lot it may be the angle of the camera as well...posting suspension mods may help too coils rucas obvi, but are they adjusted correctly... after market anti sway's bad links..tighten everythign ...

I remember that my car was very squirrelyand made the back end come out very quickly before I had an alignment. turns out i had like 3/4" of toe out in the front. So yah alignment is one possibility, tires could be a serious side if they are just about smooth and how some tires lose all grip when the go smooth. check everything. even check for wierd anonymous leaks that could be spilling onto your tires.

well i figured if he has to post on here for this, and if he cant figure out to jack up the back of the car and feel around for looseness, maybe he doesnt know what im talking about. might as well be detailed.

Pics of the full width of the tread please?

eh, only time my car has danced around was with about 1.5 degrees of toe out in the back since I suck at eyeballing.

seeing as how S14 subframe sucks and gains toe out bad under compression I'd say thats your problem.

check your alignment.

Well you figured wrong. Bad wheel bearings make lots of noises, tightening the axle nut does not help them much.

My car kicks out a lot also. Even at slow speeds. I have decent tread, but then again my tires aren't so great for rain (FM901 dunlop).
