question zilvians, i started my car earlier today and it started as usual and turned it off, now half an hour later went to the car and started it and u guessed it, it wouldnt start.... now i did all the checks fuel-pump,spark,etc.. and it still would not start, stressed me out so i called one of my boys who owns s13's and he said it might be the igniter chip, now how would that go bad out of nowhere and where is that shit located at so i can fiddle wid it?:duh: :rl: :bite:

well not exactly. they have power transistors. its bolted up to the coil bracket. it works somewhat the same was as the sr ignitor chip but a little bit differently.

oh and nissan electronics die for the hell of it.

Either do SR20's the correct name if Power Transistor and both SR and KA have them.

The SR does use an ignitor, that's the given name for it.

The FSM states for both KA & SR Power Transistor Unit.....

The sr's comes off a G50 95ish Q45 ... its expensive to get brand new so start junkyard hunting incase you want to try it.

either waycheck everything else before you resort your time to finding one.

the FSM should show how to check the ohm resistance to check if its still good. i can tell you right now its a 90 dollar part from autozone and they dont stock it, so expect the 3 day wait.
