'm trying to install a water temperature gauge onto my car but i ran into a bit of trouble. i bought a greddy radiator hose adapter from spl and i have autometer gauge. the sender has a 1/8 npt thread and the adapter has a 1/8 bspt. how can i make these fit?

autometer sells a 1/8th npt to bspt adaptor fitting for their oil pressure gauges, that will work fine

You could tap the bspt to npt

I think he was referring to using a real tap to retap it, not just forcing it in.

i know what he said. i said it didnt work out to great for me, b/c teh tap i used wasn't that sharp anymore. so once i got it started, i just cross threaded it in. lol it'll work

you could add a little teflon paste if it is leaking

Its pretty easy, just buy a 1/8 NPT tap from any hardware store or Home Depot/Lowes, and run the tap through. Since 1/8 BSPT is already pretty close to 1/8 NPT, the tap will remove just a little bit of material from the threads.
