tuned like how? Whats it got done to it? suspension, engine, chassis rust? bushings?
My first KA had 160k miles on it. I beat the living crap out of it till 245Kmiles were on it. If i actually unclogged the water passages I coulda got more. But i swapped for a 60K mile engine instead.

with any car around 200,000.. expect replacing of stuff.. wheel bearings could be nearing soon, timing chain/belts, change all fluids. Suspension shocks should be replaced if original etc..
Id pay attention to the frame itself, look underneath for any damages.
Change diff fluid as its often overlooked.
I think your going to spend alot of money on a s13 now a days becuase stuff is starting to break apart every once in a while

yea trust me u are going to want to replace alot of the oe parts that are blown or about to go, but then again most 240's are money pits, also search around to see what most other people have problems with

I have a 93 with 201,000 on the odometer
I have had to replace the high pressure power steering line, trans mount, rear struts, and A/C dryer
The tension rods, tie rod ends, subframe bushings are also worn and need to be replaced

get your timing chain checked/replaced because KAs are notorious for the timing chains stretching. your motor is going to tick...I call it the nissan tick because everyone I know from back in my mini truck days and now 240s has that problem. Like said above, change all your fluids, maybe more than once to ensure you get any and all build up out. Check the frame rails, tension rods, basically anything that normally wears out with that many miles on the clock.

It has some off the wall exhaust but it sounds great almost like the HKS hi power, it has an Injen short ram intake. it has a full KYB suspension and strut/ sway bars and off course a body kit with an aluminum spoiler. the kyb susp. is fully adjustable I believe it also has a -2.0 degree camber.

I actually bought an 89 a little under a year ago that I believe has way over 200k miles on, can't tell exactly since it seems the odo is broken(said I only drove 70 miles between Gainesville and Orlando and back, which is WAY wrong). I've had to replace quite a bit on it but a lot of it isn't too expensive. Things like coolant tubing, brakes, rotors, flushing the coolant system, fuel filter, belts. Just your typical stuff. I also agree with everyone else in replacing your timing chain, gaskets, suspension, and maybe even your clutch if it has been driven hard (since you say someone tuned it before). Oh, and maybe even your thermostat while you're replacing the coolant tubes. They're cheap, like 12$. I have been lucky with the timing chain and the expensive stuff so far. Haven't had to replace most of it albeit I am getting a swap soon so it isn't terribly important.
most people are afraid of high mile motors, but as long as you do basic maint. its actually not a bad motor. leak down test will go a long way to tell you motors condition.

I bought my 89 240 back in May with 198,xxx miles on it. It still runs, although it has some problems. Right now I think it has about 202K on it, and here are the problems I had when I bought it.
Aside from the motor, I had a shock in the rear that was shot and my front swaybar link wasnt connected to the frame on the right side. There was the protective frame coat missing on the left side because my brake master cylinder was leaking. Rear brake caliper is somewhat seized...
Now, as far as the engine, my plugs were RIDICULOUSLY old, and my spark plug wires look original they are so old lol. My left motor mount has basically deteorated and when the engine moved at a higher RPM, my injector connections are really sensitive and it would make the engine cut off momentarily a couple of times LOL. My intake tube was cracked and held together with duct tape....and a few other misc things that had to be fixed.
Other than that, its basically just the normal stuff that has to be replaced or that you want to replace when you buy the car to make it run right.
Oh yeah, and my engine burns oil. Every about 2,000 miles I have to add about a quart or two of oil...I sometimes ignore it though cause my single cam motor is a POS rofl
Hopefully this helps a little bit

Mileage isn't important. Compression is.
Check the compression and you've found your answer.

+1 more for that. I bought my car with 206K sold it, then bought it back with 221 lol. Only thing that seems to have worn due to age is rack and pinion and the timing chain jsut busted I think... Doh'
