yo guys im having problems a turbo timer. first question is that does the harness of a turbo timer matter im talking about whether its for a ka or an sr or rb etc. second does it matter whether the car is turbo or not? and third when the turbo timer is on it wont let me go on past the first stage it will give me a red screen and shut itself off.

You don't have to have a turbo to use it. The harness is somewhat specific. I would just make sure to get one for your model car. As for the 3rd question...Im not sure. Go to the link I pasted above and download the manual for your model turbo timer.

There isn't one. :) (that I know of)

I'm installing mine pre-turbo because Im trying to install as much as possible prior to turboing my KA as to make the conversion faster/easier.

O so you can install one so its running and working and itll be fine or do you just mount it waiting to install the turbo and timer at the same time?

turbo timers are also called auto timers. they can be used on any car, turbo or n/a. all it does is tell your computer when to shut your car off. it has nothing to do with the turbo, except keep your engine running so the fluids inside can cool down. the timer runs off your ignition wiring and a ground, plus your e brake for a safety shut off. if you have volt meter, o2 or stuff like that then you got to hook it into the proper wires on your ecu. If you are running your engine at high rpms for a long period of time and your car is constantly staying hot it is a good idea to let it sit at an idle for a few minutes to give the fluids a chance to circulate and cool down, (its annoying to sit in the car and wait for it to cool down). most timers have different connector that you buy seperately that goes to certain makes and models. that would be your best bet. for the screen shutting off, it might not be hooked up properly. check all your wiring, make sure its going to the proper wires, and that you have no loose connections. if that doesnt work check your trouble shooting guide in the instruction manual. I screwed up when i first hooked mine up, since theres a million wires coming off the ecu and sometimes you cant tell what is running to where.
