ka24e not sparking

my spelling isnt good so please over look the spelling errors.........ok so my friend bought a 90 hatch and he replaced the battery and the ingnishion coil, and he went and worked on it tonight and its not giving a spark. could if be the distributor? we wanted to try my distributor with his but his is a hentanchi and min is a mitsubashi, does it matter that there diffrent or are they interchangable? any help/advice would be awesome...thanks

first check to see if you have spark off the coil pack. just pull the center wire on the distributer, put a screwdriver in the end of it, put the screwdriver to a ground (about 1/4 inch above) and turn it over.

check to see if the coil is gettin power....there should only be 2 wires goin itno the primary side of it. simply hook look for 12v on the power wire and then check the ground side with a test light to see if it is pulsing.
