So I have completely gutted the car and have just recently removed all the sound deadning, and am trying to figure out what I should use to paint the metal.
I have done a search and don't want to use bed liner or any of that. I like Luke's setup in his FD. What did he use? Luke if you see this help me out man.
Spray it just like you would the outside of a car if you want it to look good.
Luke used fridge paint though and it came out good in pics (i've never seen it in person)

+1 for automotive paint, but you better prep the surface good & wipe it down with laquer thinner to remove grease & residue. Do it in sections to minimize your overspray build up,at least when you put the clear,or you can use single stage but ya better get it on the first shot.PEACE

here look
if your ghetto and shit
you can buy like this
http://i7.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/77/da/a5bf_1_b.JPG
and put car paint in it
refill it with compressed air, you can use a bicycle pump if youre a hobo
this way at least you can use real car paint, which is like, you can get black for like 40 bucks a gallon, which is the same as about 12 spray cans, 5 bucks a can will be like 60 bucks worth of spray cans, so, you save money after you paint a few things, and obviously the quality is better
if you have an air compressor you can get an hvlp gun on ebay for like 20 bucks
PLEASE NO MORE FUCKING PRIMER CARS

Thats what I'm sayin, the Rustoleum also should dry harder than automotive enamel iirc, and I was just planning on black anyway.

uhhh lol.
spraypaint is like .02 mils thick, goes on totally paper thin. this is why it flakes and chips off all the time.

How does auto paint hold up in the footwells?
I've got a gun and some spare paint, but I was going to use appliance epoxy since I daily my gutted car and need it to hold up pretty well.
I can say with experience that the spray can bedliner looks ghetto as hell and doesn't really work well.
The stuff that comes in a can with a roller is 100x better.
Then again, I didn't spend an entire day pulling the tar off of my floors to spray a bunch of rubber on there.

I always thought I'd like to try rhino liner for the footwells...tuff stuff although heavy. What do they use on the floor of the challenge ferraris?
I used bedliner out of a can...still not thick enough
I'll probably strip my car eventually of all the paint and spray the interior properly

My friends who are into Jeeps tell me the best shit is the roll on herculiner, holds up the best. have yet to try it myself.
