About a week ago I picked up this 89 240 coupe for $400. It is a rolling chassis with complete suspension, brakes and rear diff. It also has a clean title. The 240 also came with a brand new Koyo SR20 Aluminum Rad and some 17" Konig Caffine rims 2 w/brand new tires(wheels are for Sale). I will be using the car as my school project and will be seam welding it and building a cage. I will be doing brakes, suspension and a SR when I get home from school and have more funds. As of right now I have a Momo wheel/hub and fuel cell on order. I am currently looking for a seat so I can lay everything out when I design the cage. Below are some shots of the car.

Sense the previous owner used the scrape method instead of dry ice I have alot of clean up to do.

The previous owner started to seam weld the engine bay. Most likely I will be removing it and stiching the rest. But I will be spot welding it instead of a bead like he did.

The car has some small rust areas but they will be easily cleaned up.

When the previous owner removed the supports from the door he made a bunch of outward dents in each door. I havnt decided what I will be doing about the doors yet. I am considering running Nascar style door bars. Then just running a door skin and no windows.

the dings on the doors can be tapped out by any decent body guy, if you lived in phoenix i would offer up my help. but any body shop in town can fix it

^^ wtf... hes doing a school project on his car including stitch welding it and fabbing a cage. dont you think he should be able to hammer and dolly a few inverted dents out?

w/e
anyway what school are you going to? I went to VCTech and they were lame about doing custom shit. (yes stitch welding would have been considered custom)

good deal on the car tho.

are you gonna use strsw or drill holes ?

if you need some tips or whatever talk to team rootbeer on here he just stitched his s14 and built a full cage. werd

Ya most likely I will just fix the outward dents it should be fairly easy or get a putty slinger from school to help out. But running just a skin and no window would save alot of un-needed weight. I am attending Wyo-tech in Blairsville. I will check out team rootbeer's car. I am still deciding what the layout of the cage will be so I still have alot of research to do.

Nice project you have going. I can't wait to see more progress. What are you planning on doing with the car when you're finished? Nice FD project in your sig.

I will be entering it in some open track days and stuff and a little drifting on the side. I am new to all this scca stuff so I have alot of rules and regs to learn. As for the FD I cant wait to get started on that. I am in PA right now and the FD is at home in Mass. I am planning to do a LS1 swap and make it a daily driver in the summer. Possibly a single turbo setup if I can make it fit. I will post up some pics of the FD soon. I am heading to the store to get some more of my new best friend WD-40. So soon I should have some new pics.

Here are some shots of the FD. I bought it for $6,500 w/the 3 piece racing harts with only 2k miles on them. Also came with new 3" downpipe, Apexi intakes and Greddy intercooler piping. I sold them for combined $550. The car ran when I got it but wouldnt hold boost. It has 63k miles so the 13b is ready for a rebuild. I cant wait to finish school and get started on it.
