Found ANOTHER 180 for sale.
Car #1 - Friend Jim's 1991 240SX with fried short block.
Price: 500.00
Repairs: 500.00
Car #2 - On the side of the road, 1990.
Should I buy friends cause I trust him, or guys because it might be better? Or buy both and source parts from one to the other? Or buy both and have a full blown 240 project with a d.driver.
decisions, decisions, decisions!

Get the first one, so long as its in overall good condition. Then spend the 500 bucks to get a newerk KA or save for an SR or CA whatever ya want. You're really lucky if you can find 240's that cheap, thats the way I as trying to go, but decided Id rather be able to drive for the time being.

Personally, I'd buy the shell and save for a CA18DET. Even if you don't have the money to save for a new engine though, 1000 dollars for a 91 is a freakin steal. Go with that one if it's in good shape other than the engine. Btw, how many miles?

sr240fastback- Well I am going to need a car to drive while i save for the sr. I was told swapping in a ca into the fastback's we a bitch, and the aftermarket support for the CA isnt all the strong.
kidomite- Erial, New Jersey (15 minutes from Philadelphia)
transient - 140,000 on my friends, dont know about the other, i just SAW it the other day. Im gonna take it out for a spin in like 2 hours

The CA is just as easy as an SR to swap in. They have a fairly large aftermarket following also, just you have to buy everything from Australia.
I would go with the $500 91' and get it running, then start saving for whichever swap you want.. btw, whats wrong with it that will need 500 to fix?

Get the five speed you won't regret it. Auto in our cars suck and you won't find a SR w/ and auto nor do you want one then you will have to do auto to man swap ::just more money and hassle:: <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Dude I got my first 240 last year, 1993 FB for $2000 Canadian thats like $40 US.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
Invested lots into it.... did a foolish thing and sold it because i had other things that needed the funds at the time.... now another S13 falls in my lap... I paid NOTHING for it.... 1989 FB... body is mint, has a very small rust/paint bubble on the hatch ill have to get done... no hole or anything just those surface rust bubbles.... interior is mint... just needs a cleaning, the car sat for awhile so..... anyways long story short i traded my dads old decomissioned 1984 Nissan king cab 4x4 for it..... basicly the only repairs needed would be a new center piece for the tail lights and apparently the tranny is acting weird.... its an AUTO it needs some fuse or something like that buddy says because of some crappy reason.... anyways ill have to look at it myself to see whats up... then ill get ready for the KA24DE & 5 Speed swap...

this might be kind of stupid but....how much did you say that the other guy wanted for the 240 on the side of the road....i have been looking for a parts car for so long....because i want to the tranny swap...i live in Nothern NJ...so it couldnt possibly take to long to reach you where you are...if you are 25 minutes from Phili then its about an hour and half to two hours...no problem....let me know if the car is still for sale or what not..
thanx

Fresh 240sx- you looking for lights? I have the entire rear lighting assmebly (l/c/r lamps) with uncut harnesses and the lower metal from when I did the 180sx light swap. I've even got new gaskets. If interested PM me or soemthing. They are off a 93 HB and are perfect (only 48k miles and always garaged). If not for the gasket goo on the back they would pass for factory fresh.
