I'm in the market to purchase an intake for my S-14.  Problem is I don't know what to look for or what brands are great and what are fake.  I'm looking at InJen and Iceman, but I don't know if there is anything out there better performance wise or price wise.  Also, I don't know what the difference each (cold/short) will do for my ride.

I'm starting off with this as my first upgrade before anything else and I want to make sure I start off on the right foot.

HELP!!!

Injen is pretty much THE way to go on our cars.

Personally I feel the CAI (cold air intake) extention is a waste of $.  it's a fairly expensive part to get that extra 2whp (maybe)... there's also the issue of potentially getting water into your filter if you live in a wet climate/enviornment.

Hope that helps a little

Ok, the best 2 intakes are AEM and Injen, with Injen being more popular. The Injen costs around $189 and the extension is around $150 iirc. Basicly the short-ram ends where your filter was before. Get's more air going, yet the air is still hot. Now the extension really increases the intake by routing down the intake all the way to where the resonator box is. Now you get the flow and cold air sucked in as well. I dare to say that CAE doubles what your short-ram can give you. The best filter for the money is K&N (that's what the intakes come with initially)

P.S. If you have a 97-98 240sx, i can sell you my injen intake w/ CAE and AEM filter (same as K&N) + tornado air thingy (tornadoair.com. retail $80) and AEM water bypass (A thing that sux in water if it gets into your CAE to protect your engine. retail $40) for $220... PM me, or email [email protected]

well...I think saying the CAE doubles what the short intake gives is a little overstating...but it definately does help..unless you live weather where the outside atmosphere is as hot as under your hood.

also, you should be able to get both pieces for 210-220ish...I got mine for 210...and I can always get that price, and I've said in the past, if people want to pay shipping...I'll gladly pick it up and ship it to them if they can't get those prices.(they pay for the parts also!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>.

honesltly, between brands...I can't see why different brands would give much more HP the the other...the only thing I can think of, is if they make it out of different components, and that'll only help in the extreme anyways.

IIRC the extension fits anything from 89+
The intake will fit a 95-96 perfectly, except you'll have an empty hole in your adapter, cuz i think 95-96 temp sensor is located somewhere else.... anyways, pm me if you are interrested..

You shouldnt have an empty hole in the adapter. &nbsp;I have the injen in my 95 and the temp sensor screws right into the adapter.
