Ok so i had a friend of mine do some body work to my car, fix all the dents and what not, there were a few that he fixed around both of the rear fenders. I told him to wait till i was able to roll my fenders and maybe even pull them a little bit. but he ended up doing it anyways. Now im running 30mm wide front fenders with a stock rear body, and i dont want to cut up my rear fender to run wide fenders. I was wondering if there is anyway possible now for me to roll my fenders and give them a little pull so they match up with my front? Will the bondo just crack and spread everywhere? Or is there a way to do this? Please help, my car needs painted soon!!

P.S. I also need to do this so i can run like a 15mm spacer in the rear, cuz i need to run one up front to clear the coilovers.

the bondo's fucked.

get rear overfenders. why not run them in the back if you've already got them in the front? problem solved

I think you just posted as i was editing it, i dont want to cut up the fenders to run the wide fenders other wise i would be all over that. But you have to cut the fenders to run wide fenders in the rear right?

Roll, pull, redo the bondo.

^^^ no go, bondo cracking everywhere.

if you don't want over fenders, then you can get fender flares, or make your own little flare with some fiberglass and your front fender as a mold (see link).

It all depends where he layed the bondo...bondo may have to be redun, use a heat gun and take it slow, he really should have waited..It is not a big deal bondo takes 30 seconds to wip up, and even less time to fill small spots...Since your car isnt painted this is only a minor inconviniece.

LookOut Nick, How bout you fly on over here to PA and do this shit for me, i will pay with food and beer. Ha yea i wish that was possible. Ok so if i use a little propane torch and heat up the boondo will it become flexible again allowing enough time for me to do all this work?

i have a similar problem. but for the rear he didn't really bondo everything like that. just in certain spots. but i'm so worried that if i roll it it might just crack somewhere. so i'm going to save my self the trouble and get 50mm in the rear.

HA..No bondo is flammable...i dont know if bondo becomes pliable again if heated...I doubt it BUT TRY IT!! And tell us how it works out...To clarify I was just suggesting you roll your damn fenders without hesitation...Ill do it for you, buy me a plane ticket and give me 100 bones ... And dont get sassy...:coolugh:

I'm gonna agree with what most have already stated - you're gonna probably have to rebondo it with a large pull, but you might get away with a little pull. Just remember to heat up the area and go slow. Slooooww

I just didnt know how bad it could fuck up everything. When ipull it and everything cracks will the bondo be able to fill in those cracks then? I have never used bondo myself so i dont know much about it. Has anyone pulled fenders before with bondo? If so please tell me if you took any extra steps, or if you have any tips?

bondo is super easy to fuck with. just mix it up. spread. block. its a good opportunity to learn. just do it.

its not as if all the bondo on your car is gonna crack cuz you pull your quarters.

Sell the whack B-Magic fenders, that shit is horrible... like barely better clearance than stock. What size you goin' in the front that you need overs?

Just grind off the area where you want the quarter pulled, not the whole quarter. Small pull=grind away small area, Large pull=grind away large area. When you're done rolling/pulling, bondo the quarter again! Done! Its not that much more work really. snaps on petro?:coolugh:

i did some before and it came out okay. the bondo eventually cracked, but the pull came out a-okay.

you will piss and moan about bondo, until you get overfenders. Problem solved. Less prep to paint time. plus they will allow you to run the wheels you want and possibly wider. + and +

if you pay for beer, and food, and give me a place to stay, and pay for airfare, I'll do it. Plus provide girls

when I rolled the fenders on my corolla with a rubber mallet, I was surprised by some bondo... I didnt know it was there, and it shot into my eye, so you are lucky.

Haha if only i had enough money to fly you out here. I will give it a shot myself i think. i will sand a decent size area down and then borrow this guy i know that owns a shop. I have 17x9+30 all the way around but i need to run spacers up front to clear coils. Will it be too much of a stretch to fit 215/45/17 on a 9 in wide wheel? i have 235s in the back.

grind that bondo shit off, and then pull, odds are the pull will actually straighten the fender out while you're pulling

after you're done, get some real body filler and glaze to touch that shit up

Usually the metal will actually crease, not straighten out because of an uneven surface while rolling/pulling.

i've never had a problem, if you do, thats when you start hammering your flaws uniformly and smooth everything out with your filler

i think your front fenders are unnecessary. 17x9 +30 and a 15mm spacer to clear coils is flush on stock rolled fenders. i say ditch the front fenders and roll the rears.

dude, seriously a gallon can of GOOD ASS filler is no more than 20$.
if you buddy is any good at body work, go buy some and tell him what you want.
if it takes him more than half a day to do it all, i wouldnt let him touch my car again.

so simple. gah.

like a lot of people said already
roll/pull or whatever, bondo will crack, crack off the leftover bondo, smooth with sandpaper and refill then block.
it will look just as it looks right now with a new pull.
good luck!

I appreciate the help fellas. I will definitly post pictures up as soon as i do it. I'll probably take a stab at it this weekend after work, hopefully i can get the fender roller by then. Anyone have any special technique they use or any usefull tips to help with the pulling process? Will post pics up asap.

the pulling process has been discussed many times here, search for hints.

you gonna do the filler work yourself this time? if so, remember:
1- 1" ribbon of hardener to every golf ball size amnt of filler.
2- always sand parallel to body lines, with a 30 degree slide.
3- since you are a beginner, sand until you think its strait.....spray a light mist of black rattle can over it (called a guide coat) and sand it again. you will be suprised. helps find highs and lows.

good luck.
