Hows it going. i have had a 3" exhaust on my ka24de for a while now, never went turbo as planned, never even got to dyno it. but i hear how 3" is too big so i am going to go to 2.5". i shopped all over here near my area in the bay area of cali and the best price i could get is $320 for 2.5" piping + resonator + magnaflow muffler #14857. what do you guys think?

3" too big is a lie. It's already been proven by a dyno that 3" works well on the KA. As far as the cost goes, I got a full custom 3" exhaust for about $250 at Sonny's Muffler. That's here in North Carolina though. I would suggest asking about price in regional, and researching the performance gains of a 3" exhaust in Tech.

That's not that bad.

You aren't getting "ripped off" but its ok.

Assuming the muffler is $100 and the resonator is $50 just for ease, it would be $170 for piping and installation

I think for 2.5" you are paying too much, maybe for 3" it would make more sense

With no flanges that's a bit high though now that I think about it

Depends too how good of a job they do

for 2.5 setup. You're paying too much. A little less or around $300 if they mandrelt all your pipes.

just use the 3" setup. i don't think the sound difference will be worth the money you spend on a custom 2.5" setup

I've done both 2.5" and 3" custom setup on KA.

Both had resonators, both had straight through mufflers

The 3" is fine with silencer and even with it out its not bad

The resonator helps a lot

keep the 3".
as that guy said it has been dyno proven not to be bad for it.

i welded in a magnaflow in my straight through 3" and it helped quite a bit at idle, but is still pretty loud when giving it gas. i would like to quiet it down more but i can't justify spending the money.

Get an oem someone is throwing away. Doesn't get much more stock than that.
