First wanted to say whats up and introduce myself, I drive an 02 Audi A4 and hopefully soon will be getting a S13 to play with. I dont know much about how to set up the car for drifting. What things are esssential, will be starting slow and working up as my skill level progresses. What are the parts are absolutely need to get into this. Thanks for the help! :newbie:

Don't forget brake pad upgrade or complete brake system up grade......
Anyway....setting up a s13 for drifting is all about what your needs are. The general populace will agree on one thing....up grade to more power when you know you can handle it. While more power makes drifting easier it does not translate into you being a better driver.
As you search and read different threads you will find various opinions about what changes should be done in a particular order. Ghost Dancer gave the basic upgrades without regards to order.
You will find a lot of people saying to upgrade/replace worn suspension componets as the first thing to do. From there differences of opinon set in. Personally speaking....I recommend the following order......Suspension, Brakes, Drivetrain, and Engine/Transmission. Exterior/Interior changes can be done at any point during your particular build up. In most cases a lot of people will start with the exterior after the brakes and suspension is done. Partially due to the fact that the wheels have been changed to work along side with a five lug conversion or the brakes system does not work with the stock wheels.
All in all....the more thought you put into the build the better the outcome. Read anything and everything you can find on the S13. More importantly....have fun.
