new paint job

I am about to get a new paitn job, but i was wondering. I have a red 240 and am thinking about painting it either pearl white or a blue type color. Both obviously not close to being a reddish color. If I get the paint job for like $1000 around will they paint everything so that there is no trace of red on my car after they are finnihed. I was just wondering what they paint and what they don't paint.

The only problem I have herd when gettinga  custom color is when you have to have a new bumper or whatever repainted or something its very hard to get the colors to match.
So try to find a color that comes normally on a car already. but to each his own.

I did the same thing. For that price, everything will be blue or whatever that you can see except in the engine bay. Solution: spend a day and remove the engine and throw a bazillion coats of high heat black in there. black engine bay matches any color, so your set.

where do you get he high heat balck paint from?

every hardware/auto store in the worl carries high heat paint. Duplicolor makes some good ones.

Wouldn't it be a bitch to paint the engine bay even with out the engine in there?  There's just so much stuff still in the way... radiator, hoses, wiring, a/c stuff etc... just seems like having to pull the engine, disconnect all hoses and drain fluids along with, I suppose, masking what ever is remaining would be a tough tough job.  I would never want to deal with all of that just to paint my engine bay.  I wish there was an easier way!

look at it this way, it makes it more worthwhile to take out he clutchfan, replacing it with hte electric and thermostat, and relocating the battery and relay box like you've always wanted to do &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>

I know a guy who does paint and he said a top-notch paint job would cost about 2-3Gs...that includes door jams, stripping the car of all the rubber seals on the windows, taking off all the glass, inside of the trunk, taking off the lights, etc. etc...I don't know how much of that stuff they'll do with a G but it should be pretty nice...

very true. Im painting my car right now and I removed every single rubber molding piece, as well as the doors, hood and trunk, so I can get everything in color. Later on i'll pull out the engine and spray the bay, + clean up the block while im at it.
