Ok I just finished swapping my sr Redtop into my 1993 240 coupe and i have 2 problems. I have takin out the whole A/C and heater system, No radio.
I am useing the same guage cluster that came off my SR frontclip the one that reads Kmh and i plan on useing it.
Im going to get to the point here i have 2 problems.
1. That Being said my speedometer and clock dosent work every thing else on the guage cluster works except the speedometer and the clock.
2.No interior lights work what so ever but the gas light, brake light etc... work on the guage cluster, but the dim light doesnt come on when i turn the headlights on The door chime dosent ding either.Sometimes those lights stay on with the key out of the ignition.
now the plugs for the radio are cut and spliced and might be grounding out somewhere, if i shake those wires for the radio i can hear a relay in the engine bay clicking.
Some info of the car: My car is standard and I had to change the chassis harness (the one that sits in the engine bay) because it was destroyed, so went to a junk yard and pulled one out of an automatic 1992 240sx now If their was a standerd S13 240sx i would have takin it off that one instead.
Question:
when doing an SR swap, Theirs three plugs (by the fuseBox for automatic) that one gray oval plug that will plug in to the SR lower tranny harness but it doesnt really go to anything cause the wires are differnt do you have to rewire that plug to work or do something to it for it to read the speed sensor.
Is their a way to bypass any of this.
If someone can help me, I would Really appreciate it alot.
Thanks, Jordan

You've blown a fuse, replace it.
Next time don't go in and hack shit without knowing what you're doing, and tape up everything you're not using.

Jordan, it seems like you need to slow down with hacking up all the wiring. You should learn how to diagnose electrical problems yourself, its much easier than asking for people to guess how to fix them over the internet.
Here is my advice: get your FSM, sit down, pick something like the clock or speedometer and diagnose it.
For the clock, look in the clock section of the electrical part of the FSM, find the fuse number for it and check if it is blown. Just for reference, the clock fuse is the 8th one down in the right bank of the interior fuse block, its a 7.5 amp. If it's not the fuse then you need to start looking at the wiring diagram in the FSM.
The speedometer issue is pretty easy to fix, you need to find what color the wiring is coming from the speed sensor, then figure out which plugs they need to go to. This can all be done with the FSM. Read my post on this thread. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=122568 If all else fails, run new wires from the speed sensor to the correct plug as described in my post.

That didnt work for the speedometer all i had to do was connect the 2 speed senor wires to plug E11 (A/T Model) with the the same colored wires yellow blue stripe and yellow black stripe. And now the speedometer works just fine. Thanks For the info.
now i need help with the interior lights Not working (dim lights) I checked the fuse and it was still good, im taping up the radio wires right now. im also looking at the FSM but not real sure what to do.

Oh, I failed to realize that you had an S13, stupid me, the plug numbers and things on the other thread were probably all messed up because I wrote it for an S14. Congrats on figuiring out the speedometer.
Are you talking about the overhead cabin light or the gauge cluster lights? If its the gauge cluster then you need to have the brightness adjustment knob attached to its plug. Again, this is coming from me knowing an S14, so I'm just assuming S13's have a dimmer knob.

Well yes the overhead cabin light and the guage cluster lights dont come on
but whats wierd is that ijust went out side to g play with it and i jiggled the radio wires and the guage cluster lights came on and i tried to turn the headlights on and then they turned off Then when i turned the headlights off they turned back on.
well now im definatly going to finish tapeing up the radio wires.
But why would they turn off and then on like that.
now what.

well i shook the radio wires around again and the interior lights work, but the guage cluster lights turn off when i turn the headlights on.
could it mean that something in the radio wires is grounding out or what.
And the interior (Cabin lights) would only come on if the key was in the Acc or on position.

I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to give you a straight up answer to your issues, this is the kind of thing that can't be solved well over the internet. I would try taping up any exposed wires that you can find, especially the radio wires, which seem to be causing the problems, then try "jiggling" each individual wire, while holding the others steady, to try and find the source of the problem. It sounds like something is grounding or is shorting to some other exposed wire.
Why the radio wires would be messing with your headlights is something that you need to take time and investigate.
