The run groups were completely full, so i was unable to swindle a transponder to know if my times ever approved. But the day was overcast, and perfect for a full day of racing.

Enjoy!!!

Federal SS 595's.
225/40 fronts & 245/40 rears

The guys down in Irvine, CA at JDM Garage hooked me up.

I highly recommend them for road-coarse. Even brand new with no time for break-in, they held up better than my BFG KDW2's & my Hankook RS2's. They are a far better tire.
I figured, if they hold their own in the Drift Scene, then they should do me proud at the track. So far, they have.

I just looked it up, damn thats a good price.
Ive been registering with speedtrialusa.com for a while now, and this was my first time with NASA.

Which day's are you running? Both?

Yea both days, i also have a 350Z that i sponsor that will be running the RWD Street class. We are running our new front aero kit on that car. If he wins his class, he gets a 2 grand bonus from Kognition. This will be my first time on the track with this car (S14) and i am putting alot of new parts on it at the moment.
So i need Saturday to get a feel for the car. If it rain's i'm fooked because i just put some brand new Hoosier slicks on the car today. If it doesn't rain....... look out! :2f2f:

Yeah, well it rained the whole way out there. And by the time i got way the hell out there, it was beautiful. Hell, Buttonwillow is like in another country - LOL

Good luck with the S14 run, if ya havent raced in one before, your in for a treat. Mine was so well behaved and smooth, I had no issue pushing the envelope in it.

Enjoy, and maybe ill see ya around!

Oh BTW, i passed that '05 Piece-o-shit on every run. The new mustangs are cleary not built for handling. That car was all over the place, and it was almost too easy. I even blew him away on one of the straight aways.

Now that M3 trailing me, that was another story. That guy could drive, but it was mostly the car :D

And lastly, i proudly gave a Corvette a run for his money. Though he would catch my ass on the straight aways, id lose his ass in all the corners. Made for a bit of excitement!

I should do really well in the corners, i swapped my oem doors with custom made
7lb honeycomb core doors!!! So that alone took 100lb's off my car. And i am installing these new Largus F&R sway bars. Really looking forward to trying those out. But i am still an intermediate with much to learn, but with a featherlite ride. My sponsored 350Z driver on the other hand, is an accomplished driver with experience in various sanctioning bodies, has taught at Skip Barbor .... and last month won
the 145mph division at the Nevada Silver State Classic. Sorry ... i am just really proud of him so i have been blabbing that all month. lol. And he allready
has a 2nd and a 3rd place in previous Redline events. Before his T.T. install that is. ;)

:eek3d: ah......are you sure about that? not to be a dick, but that leads me to suspect that you werent driving anywhere close to the fed's limit/threshold...or at the BFG/hankook's for that matter...its just hard to believe that the SS595s would out perform the aforementioned...especially with a vehicle that has forced induction...if youre convinced that they are, what was so much better about them?

nice pics btw...cant wait to get back out there next season...hopefully ill get a few leguna runs in...

Nah, its cool. Everyone does have their own opinion, especially about tires. Its prolly why there are a 1000 posts on the subject. Though i cannot speak to "driving limits", i do know what my experience's are. Its just an opinion, and i plan on staying with the Federal's for a while. Thanks.

hey, glad you didnt take it the wrong way bro...i was just curious to know why these would be better than the other two concerning road racing...also, i hope you understand where im coming from reading your sig: SR, F+R sways, 14" brembos, etc. etc...it just seems that they would have lost traction or heat up with all that equipment...

granted i have yet (or the desire to) track these particular tires, ive DD'd them for a few weeks with the occasional onramp/offramp, mountain runs, etc...after driving on some stretched 225/40s on a 9.5, i still thought the sidewalls felt very soft...let alone your 255/40s on a 10.5...but your testimonial may change my mind to maybe give them a try for a session or two...and youre absolutely right, preferences are preferences so keep on truckin'!

That reminds me SW20>>S14. We should hit up a few mountain runs while this weather is still holding up. I don't feel very satisfied with the amount of times we've gone... :bite: Gotta make the most of it right?

Nice pics at the track BTW!! Glad you enjoyed it. I wish I had had time to go out there. :wtc: Maybe I'll be following your lead next season, SW20. It'd be nice to go there and finally get a feel for the car. :2f2f:
