speed sensor doesn't fit

Okay, so I had an auto tranny and now have s13 blacktop sr. Obviously I needed to swap out the speed sensor...so I went to a shop (phase2 in socal) and got a US 240sx manual speed sensor, and when I went to install it, it didn't fit. It was barely too wide.

Phase2 had told me this was the same sensor they've used over and over. It was the correct part number and all...

I trust phase2 and they are as stumped as I am.

What was the speed sensor out of? I think that the S13 and S14 manual speed sensors are a little different in size

i am pretty sure s13...i will double check.

Black plastic case with a direct plug in = S14.
Aluminum case with a long wire lead = S13.

Manual VSSs will fit in manual transmission, no matter which one it is. Auto VSSs are larger and will not fit without trimming. Sounds like you got an auto unit.
