So we today we started work on our LS1FC that will compete in the Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street car challenge. Here is the begining of the build. Hope you enjoy.

We started off the day organizing all the parts that Hinsonsupercars.com provided.

Starting with the mounts.

Next we laid out the fuel system for pre fitment and inspection.

Pump, and guage.

Next I put the clutch hydros together.

This cool little box converts the electronic speed signal in our t56 tranny to cable for the Fc cluster.

The oil pan on our 2001 LS1 was cracked. So i picked up another one.
then we cleaned it.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00074.jpg

And prepped the new gasket

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00080.jpg

After the pan was in good shape. Kyle started to prep the engine bay.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00082.jpg

Then we installed the Hinson motor mounts. Bolted right up !
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00093.jpg

Then Kyle and I removed all the manifolds, tranny, and all that fun stuff.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00087.jpg

I noticed the rear main seal was leaking so off went the clutch, flywheel, and rear cover.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00089.jpg

Yum! Look at all that built up gunk.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00091.jpg

Then i gave the motor the shocker because it was being a dirty little girl.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00090.jpg

Then Kyle Coated the manifolds with Ceramic heat barrier spray. This stuff is awsome. We will be using the stock manifolds since this will be a street legal car.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00096.jpg

Then I showed off how dirty i was.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00095.jpg

And Steve washed his hands.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00097.jpg

Not bad for 2 hours worth of work.

Stay tuned for updates. Shockdrifting.com will be back up soon with a new look too.

You know breaking up from a 3.5 year relationship can make you want to drink a little.

95zilvia: Thanks Jon. Looking forward to it.

Zar: Just getting her done

Because we allready have an FD.

And its somthing different.

Suspension is in the works.

Lookin cool Luke...Cool Hand Luke. LOL :D Is that the FD that was in your driveway when I came by awhile back ago for the MC?
Also, you can ceramic coat the inside of the manifold and it will push the heat out of it faster

So why not let the FD compete with the much more capable suspension? To track orientated? I'm just curious to see what you will be doin for suspension. We are kinda limited in choices minus super high end

After i installed the new rear cover gaskets, I torque all the bolts down.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00098.jpg

Then it was time to install the Flywheel.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00099.jpg

Using Locktite of course.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00100.jpg

Heres the Clutch we will be using. It is a Center Force dual friction. This clutch should be very streetable.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00101.jpg

After i was finished the clutch. On went the new oil pan. Ls1 oil pans are a structural part of the block. Just like on the sr motors. After that I put the T56 6 speed tranny onto the motor.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00102.jpg

With a little effort I got the motor all dropped in, bolted up, and alligned.
Shit son... Its Over!!!!
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g204/turboskeet/DSC00103.jpg

More updates soon.
