i've volunteered over on dtmpower to be the organizer for a drive in august through great falls. since i drive a 240 it would be cool if you guys would show up and reprezent some japanese RWD ^_^

fo sheezy great falls is a nice hilly twisty area. the drive is going to be late night, and will be at a "spirited" pace; people that aren't used to taking corners with speed be wary. the final details have yet to be planned, but i want some other 240's there to hold it down!

date is August 17th
meeting places are in rockville at B&N / starbucks in MD; be there at 1100 cause i'm leaving at 1130. in VA meet up at the mcdonalds at the intersection of dolley madison and old dominion in mclean at midnight.

i haven't posted for a definate meet up point, i think we will meet up mostly in Rockville MD (since i'm there a lot to hangout and there are a bunch of peopel that meet up there anyway) or somewhere in tysons.

after the drive we are going to take a twisty shortcut to the Amphora in vienna. the date looks like august 17th.

I'll try to be there, depending on what I've got going on that weekend, and if I have my (hopefully) minor problems fixed. I'm new to the board, and the NOVA area as well. I have an SR swap done by Jeff Holden of HeavyThrottle Performance in poughkeepsie. You can see pics if you go to the site www.srswap.com , click on project cars, and then click on project car #2, the pics you will see will be of my car the day I picked it up from him. He only lists about 3/4 of the goodies I have. Boost is currently set for 12 psi. I threw it on the chassis dyno at Rosen Autosport in Richmond back in April. She put out 214whp at 6600 rpm. I'll let you all take a look if I show up.

Any suggestions on a good meetup place in tysons? closer to the mall the better; but i don't want mall security chasing us off.

ok, if you took 495; there is a 123 exit (Chain Bridge road) take it towards Mclean; it turns into dolley madison and you take a right on old dominion and the mcd's is on your left. &nbsp;If you are comming from rt 7; from the west (from leesburg to tysons) you would take &nbsp;the 123 exit towards mclean; its right after the sports authority/crapusa/wendy's shopping center (i think its called marshall's center). from there it turns into dolley madison; take a right onto old dominion road and the mcd's is on your left.

Oh one side note.....Great falls and McLean are probably some of the most law enforced areas in Northern VA. So keep them eyes wide. If my car is back together by then I will swing by.

and remember if anything happens i'm not responsible ( the devil sends out squirells kamakazi style onto the road sometimes) but then again since i'll be in front i'll probably be the one open to most abuse by animals.

there really aren't any police hiding around great falls (where we will be driving) since its all 1 lane and mad twisty with no shoulder at all for the most part. i have yet to see a cop chillin in great falls. EVER (i've lived here like 16 some odd years)

mclean, yes; but there is no police station in great falls.

and it is NOT the mcdonalds with the overgrown arches in front; it is the NEWER mcdonalds that is much more visible at from the corner on the map. please do not go to the older one with huge arches sitting hidden from view.

I'll back up Kumanchu, i've never seen a cop around GFs, they hang out on the other side of 495, it's closer to dunkin donuts...

i doubt a fast car would be able to use it's speed there, there are so many tight turns that the stockest 240 could keep up with an SR20, but suspension would make a difference.

is anyone running that has never done something like that before? if so leave a big gap between you and the car in front of you... eeerrrrrrhhhhh! BOOM!

It was cool to finally meet some people! Everyone was suprisingly cool, so many times before I've gone to meets and just met jerks... and what was with that place in MD, like no cops... heh, and that prelude was a joke, trying to spin 360, haha. he loved it....

anyways, cool meet'in ya'll, even though no-one did the run, still had more fun than a usual saturday night (stealing old ladie's purses and stuff.)

The meet was pretty cool, I liked it when BBSHT240 did alittle drifting in MD. &nbsp;What really was weird were most of the cars that were pulling away from the McDonald's in VA.......for some reason they decide rev up and floor it as they drive away......as if they were showing off (trying to) or wanting to race. &nbsp;It kinda sad how even my stock auto can whoop any of those cars.

Take the montrose Rd. Exit from 270, go way way way down the road, like 2 or 3 miles, at this weird intersection take a left, or, if you go to far you'll see it on your left... can't remember what the mall/shopping center was, but it wasn't hard to find. like one turn... just get on montrose rd and look for altezza tail lights and follow them, you're bound to find it.
