I need help. I've been checking out some deals and I've come across one for a set of 26mm calipers. Are 30mm calipers worth the $80 more (approximate price difference that I have been seeing). The car is a 93 coupe.

Save more and buy the 30mm.

i went with the 30mm calipers. i have not pushed the car yet fully, and i am not sure of the performance difference between the 2. but... i will say, if the 30mm calipers aren't good enough... there are upgrades you can do, not including upgrading pads... like the vr4 rotor upgrade or the 350z rotor upgrade... which will help out alot... if you have more money...

The way that I look at it is as such. The 26mm brakes are only a 4 mm difference (obviously). I can't imagine that there would be a HUGE noticeable difference between that at the 30mm. It will be much better than stock (obviously). I will have slotted and drilled rotors, PBR pads, and SS lines. Can anyone give me any technical data which would dissuade me in this decision.

You are justifying the 26mm caliper being good enough for you. Go for it.

I've used both, and the difference is minimal. The quality of pads and some ss lines will make a huge difference. Had the 26mm on a 90 hatch and 30mm ones on an S14, both stock SR.

faded1004 - What do you mean 'not good enough'. Care to ellucidate? Pads, how much power, etc.

Haha, some track whores rock there stock calipers all day, and they actually drive their cars.

i got 26mm. its a bitch lookin for rotors since everybody carries the 30mm caliper rotors. thats it i guess and since they are aluminum they get hotter faster than the iron ones that came in 30mm? thats just what i've heard before.
