How much trouble did you have putting these things on? I am having the hardest time in the freaking world.:smash:

I've narrowed down my issues to a clunk or cracking sound coming from my coilovers:duh: . I tried lowering, I tried pre-loading, i tried removing the front sway, and finally putting it back to the way it was before, and nothing gets rid of the cracking sound:axe: . It only cracks when I try to drive.:axe:

I have put on 350z wheels. They are 18" wheels with some TEIN HE's and everything was going great until I pre-loaded it. Now I cant get rid of the clunking. I searched online and learned that it could be the top mount nut but that one can only be tightened so much and always spins and so its never set.

Any ideas?:rl:

Sounds like it is stripped possible if it keeps spinning. Check underneath and see if you can get an allen wrench in there. Then get a friend to tighten it from the top.

When I do that it tightens a bit but it dont get rid of the clunking. It didnt clunk with the old stock s13 wheels. It began clunking recently after I tried to raise the height. But if tightening the top nut is the only way out. I can fit adjustment wrench and hold it then tighten the top nut. Hope that works. Thanks

clunkin sound are pretty normal for coilover, i was using Tein SS and i has such sound for a while and it eventually goes away from time to time. there maybe dust or little rocks between the spring and the shocks. also did u change ur bushing, its possible when theyre worn out.
i think any kind or nice speaker and bass can solve this problem lol jk

LOL i dont know what happened but the noise went away. I figure that I just needed to drive the car so that the spring would settle.

The 18's look killer and I really love it. So thanks for the ideas.
